some ideas(not really requests)

- any kind of a strange looking alien planet
- asian/japanese tileset
- "the day after"
- an improved vulcanic tileset
- under water ( doesn't really fit with the current faction )
- wild west

Fit and finish preexisting tilesets before marching forward on completely new/ambitious projects.

Volcanic Tileset is a very good idea and it just needs some tuning to be perfect. Omega seems less than enthusiastic to do further work on it.

To do list includes:

Diversify the object list: too many skeletons/bone objects.  4-bush is good  but '5-water obj'   6-C1  7-C2 8-C3 need to be replaced with other models wich fit the theme.

Adjust sound files:  some foreground sounds are too loud and others are low quality - the lightning sound FX is terrible.

Surface texture: Stone should be re-textured.

Forget about the having a little to much bones and all that nit-pick the sounds are way to loud they drowned out all other sounds when I last played it.

Objects are essential for a good looking map - if the tileset lacks visual appeal it affects the overall game play.

Why bother with images and models when we could all play as stick figure models shooting white dots at black squares?

Anyone up for some Breakoutâ„¢ multiplayer?

Yes the objects has affect on the game-play but the kind of object problem your talking about is very minor, the music being drowned out really ruins the game-play.

It's not minor, this is why I linked the object list and the element palate. You gonna bicker to the last word on this?

Well it's not major, the sound problem is much more important, so I think we should fix that first, do you agree?

Yes, I read it,. but I got the idea that you thought the object diversity was more important than the sound thing............I guess it was the way I read them..............and the fact that I was kind of doing something else.............

The underwater one is a whole mod (3 factions)idea I had actually. That'd be funny to see, for sure.

I had mentioned the asian bamboo forest set before, didn't have time to start it myself.

A sci-fi theme would be cool. Maybe a post-apocalyptic "Wasteland" tileset. Also something like a "Metal" tileset, like the surface of the Death Star.

One day after coming home from a boring day at school, I had an idea:  There would be a tileset where the ground textures all looked exactly like graph paper!  It would have custom objects being things like A+ signs (American grading system), various smudge marks, and the other objects as nothing so that the whole map would look like a piece of graph paper with doodles, ink smudges and A+ marks!  I know it sounds wierd, not likely to fit any existing factions/techtrees and super easy to make (I know, I didn't know how to model then), but the best part is that it would come with a simple faction.  This faction would have a hero-like mechanician, and an engineer who followed him around and did really quick upgrades that improved the stats of the hero.  Both units would be simple and steampunk-styled.  Yeah, not exactly a noteworthy idea, but a random burst (or at least what I can remember of it), of imagination.  Wow, now I don't have to wonder about forgetting the idea.

I was kinda planning an underwater mod in the back of my mind (inspired by Atlantica's sea palace), but it would have to wait until after Sun and Moon, which probably won't be done until some time next year.  I'd be sure to download any underwater tileset anyone made, though.  If nobody else makes it, I might have to. :)

Anyway, tileset ideas that I've had (feel free to use them if you'd like):
Underwater
Urban decay
or how about you make a tileset of wherever you live?  You could even take your own photographs for the ground textures if you have a decent camera.

On the paper idea, I had a "War Room" mod idea. All the units would be unanimated icons or minatures and the ground would look like map paper or something. Like a bunch of Generals pushing armies around.

I like how we're getting some "outside the box" ideas.  Along the grid idea, what about a checker/chess board?  I'm just not sure how to go about putting enough objects on it. :-\
