Glest:Stories Undead faction (priorly naval)

The undead is a seafaring faction. They raise dead warrior to fight against them.
UnDead Units:
Zombie Worker: Retextured (completely) Worker WIP
Warrior: Basic melee unit
Skeletal Mage: A strike magical unit
Lich: The undead form of a necromancer with stronger attacks can summon both warriors and skeletal mages as Pets
Living Units:
Necromancer: A weaker version of the lich WIP
Shadow Hunter: A strong piercing ranged unit
Buildings:
Necropolis: The main building
Graveyard: Produce souls used to recruit undead units
Arcane Sanctum: Produces both necromancers and skeletal mages
Shiphouse:  produces the undead ships
Shadow Tower: Defense Unit
SHips:
Shadow Striker: basic strike ship
Bombard Ship: Heavy attack ship

Necro polis and mancer pic
  Look closely at the necromancer you can actually see him through the alpha in the gate!!!

Yes its progressing let me upload a little pre-pre-pre-Alpha type of thing i just need to do some balancing and fix the glitch that the transport ship has which makes glest crash

Okay we are uploading soon both the blends(for improvement only some of the units) and the entire g3d mod will be released for download. Of course by file front and on the first post so check back there

indeed it looks very nice, surely for a pre-alfa. I am shure to make attacks from the see in the story mode.

Ok, just took a look, the models are different but somehow striking me as weird, is this mod like undead, because it said naval, and the name 'naval' should be reserved for something based solely on the navy.

The anims were crazy, although, I haven't played the mod yet, only looked at the .blends.

They look great in glest thats strange. No really naval will have a new name but it will have nothing to do with undead. The units that arent water related are from a faction called asthenian I made it but couldnt think of how to make it look more powerful. In the end i boosted up naval with asthenian

Oh that is this faction right here If you want I can model undead and add a necromancer that would be cool. I could remodel the boats with skulls and stuff. Actually this would be awesome though i need to download blender since I made the change to linux right now Ubuntu Rules

First Phoenix, you might want to get a better grip on animation. :-\
You're 11 right, that's good what you can do at 11, but try to advance in animation the way I have.
My main reason: I'd suck at texturing, so I figured I'd kinda specialize in animation.

Sorry archc but I know animation better than you. I have known animation longer than you. And have you tested the models in glest. THey have very good animation very close to the animation in glest

My anims get better every time I do one, I saw one of your rigs, I dare you to do better without learning anymore about animation or rigging.
Besides you had a weapon going through the guys body, also, why do you do 3 copies of every animation?
I'm talking about the models in your blends.7z.

This mod is definitely a good start.  The models are quite good.  The textures look decent, but a little bland.  A little bit of variation could make them look really good, I think.  On the buildings, for example, trying using the dodge/burn tool (assuming you're using GIMP) to darken the edges of some of the textures and to add a bit of variation.

In shiphouse.xml, line 31 reads "<upgrade name name="naval_development" />".  This is, of course, wrong.  I have no idea how you got it to play without fixing this, because I couldn't even load the faction without changing it.  The same goes for the morph command in transport_ship.xml.  It refers to the morph skill by the wrong name, "morph_skill" instead of "morph".

Also, there are some non-fatal errors/issues I found, like the fact that the Barracks has a command for producing a unit called a Runner, but instead it produces a Halberdier.  All of your boats are size 1 for some reason.  The Shiphouse can be built on land, but I think that's just a GAE issue and can't be fixed from a modding standpoint.  It might make more sense for the Galleon's sail and the Warrior's shield to have the same symbol (I prefer the shield one), but no big deal either way.  You have both a Worker and a worker_navy, but I'm pretty sure only one gets used in the game.  Some of the units have g3d files that they don't use (the Runner, for example).  As far as the animations go, they really do need to be redone.  Your units really move more like marionettes than real people.  I'll try to find time to take a look at your blend files and see what you've got going on, but it's certain that something isn't being done right.

Wtf are you using linux since it worked for me. I'll have to make those xml changes. Now Im on ubuntu so I will have to fix the stuff and get gae. The animation will be improved(walking first) then I will improve dying and idle. Is the attack for hunter bad or not. I guess I will redo the animations since i used a really old armature I will correct those things. Also since linux isnt bugged to make uv maps right sides distorted I will add new models that are mine with new animation thank you for your responses. Also this is declared a mod for glest stories.
@ emscape this will be improved. Im adding an new hunter model now and I will slowly replace the others now that I have gotten everything on linux working(just about)

Yah, I'm Kubuntu Linux 9.10, integrated graphics......
For some reason, when I download Glest from the add/remove package manager, it works fine, but if I use the 64-bit linux version it says I need all these libraries, that, I can't seem to satisfy!

Sorry for the double post Its just that i'd like to notify that because of the votes on undead for glest stories this faction will become undead and will be completely different. What maintains them linked is that undead will also have ships

I never knew undeads could ride ships O_O I always thought of them being pirates lol who can transform
