Tips And Strategies...Where are they?

Hi Folks,
I just discovered Glest and I'm having trouble finding any Tips or Strategies for the game. A lot of the talk I see is concerned with game functionality and development. Where can I find out how to play?
i now what keys do what, that's not what I mean.

Things like: the precise value of each resource?
How much Gold/Stone/Wood does it take to build a particular building or Unit?
What is the combat strength of each Unit, and how is combat determined?
What buildings do I build at one point?
What do each of the Units do?

That kind of stuff...

Someone please direct me in the right direction.

Have you done the tutorials?

No. Something went wrong in my setup I think. The tutorial button doesn't do anything. So I have no tutorials with the game, however I did discover the PAUSE Button...That works fine...I just won my first match. I'm sure that's considered cheating, but the computer knows the game better than I do. I'll use it less and less as I get better.

Pausing isn't cheating, it just give you time to think.

Well it certainly feels like cheating. I'd like to have that option available in life.
...Let the world sit idle while I have time to consider my next course of action...and grab a cup of coffee (or a nap)
