Glest won't Start

I installed glest from the 3.2.2 from liflg.org it installed fine but when I try to start it nothing happens i I start it from the directory where I installed it still nothing I am useing Ubuntu 9.10 I had glest installed before from the Ubuntu software channel but uninstalled it because it minimised its window from fullscreen every time I played it.

Start it from Terminal.

Are you 64-bit or 32-bit?

When I run it in terminal all it says is
The program 'glest' is currently not installed.  You can install it by typing:
apt-get install glest
glest: command not found

I am 32-bit

You can't just type Glest, that message is telling you to get Glest from add/remove, which you said gave you problems.........

Open Terminal.

Navigate to the directory where the Linux installer installed Glest.
Command: cd <|full path to installation directory|>

List all contents, the long way.
Command: ls -l

Please copy the list out of Teminal and post it.
To copy: Ctrl + Shift + c
To paste: Ctrl + v

Leave your Terminal window open.

Yes, that will help!

Now change the permissions on glest.bin.
Command: sudo chmod 777 glest.bin

Now execute the Glest binary.
Command: ./glest.bin

If all goes well, Glest should open.

Sorry after doing your commands It came up with this error

./glest.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libxerces-c.so.27: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Sorry but nothing in that post helped me so I will try to install the original glest from the software channal that I had a problem with, at least it works!!

I tryed that and it works but has a odd sound problem and the same screen problem,also the glest logo is very pixaly!! It is very odd one has a falt and the other dousnt work at all yet same version 3.2.2

Well, I don't know why you're having problems.........
Check this out, I wrote it and I know it works, it could solve your graphics problems....

Please tell me what happens, and if the fix I posted works for you.
