Glest. To easy or to hard?
« on: 26 December 2009, 16:39:02 »
Well, when ever i play glest, it is eather to hard, or to easy, never inbetween, like i want.
I don't want to be able to just wipe them out, or be wipe out, i can beat a non-ultra as anything (Default)and, it just isn't as fun as it used to be for me, i'll probably be hosting glest servers (i am 90% posotive i can port forward, i got it to wth other games) in the summer for others to join and battle, untill then, can you get something or find a way to make it not to hard or to easy?

also, if you need help beeting a CPU, maby if you ask, i might make a you-tube video on how to :?

I agree with you. For the most part, it is too easy for me. The only way the CPU can beat me is if they use two or more ultras on the same team (then I'd put my chances at maybe 50-50). I see that I too have games where I usually just wipe the computer(s) out. With three cpu ultras on a team, they are a lot more challenging and its a lot closer to 'inbetween', but I don't like that. I'd love to play a two on two game where I'd have challenges and a decent partner.

I'd like the GAE people to work on the AI but they seem to only work on stuff like the pathfinder and GUI.......

While I think that they should work on the AI first, it IS their choice and they (probably) will get to the AI eventually. An improved pathfinding might somehow make AI easier to code too. But that's kind of off topic. The point is, Glest's AI is too simple minded. It can be too hard for newbies (perhaps a slower reacting easy mode is needed?) and too easy for experienced players (which is what tactics, regrouping, multiple attack points, and an overally smarter AI is needed for).

Yah ai should more closely resemble BFME2 ai which is actually capable of tactics and diversion.

More players, although it would be a major headache (maps, AI, engine itself) to implement, would allow for more even battles.  When there is so much of a desparity of playing ability between the human, the normal AI, and the ultra, more players I think will tend to smooth out the team strength and make it a more symmetric warfare experience.
