I say fantasy is best, and a mod with no air unit is dumb no offense.

There are whole games with no air.  The Total War series is an example.  It is also an example of historically based factions.  Rome Total War has a very nice array of Roman units, and Mark thinks it is historically accurate for the most part.

Age of empires  would be taken in to though. Its very historicaly based really fun and has no air but it makes up for that with  navies but still some places dont have water

Don't get me wrong, I love the romans, which are my favorite ancient civilization (three main reasons: catholicism, latin alphabet, and cool military). However, while they would be the most fun realistic mod to play, they still wouldn't match a fantasy one well enough IMO.

Take Call of Duty, normally based on World War II. Now take Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. One is pretty realistic, while the other takes place in the near future in something that preferably won't happen. However, Modern Warfare was (IMO) far better than the former, even though it'll most likely never happen (controversal mission and all).

Another example: no comparion - Final fantasy. None of it's realistic at all, but damn, it's great!

Yet one more example: Movies. While there's a few good true movies, almost all drama, most really big movies are fake (LoTR, etc)

Ok, whatever.
Romans will be historically based but will have some fantasy aspects to it, like you will be able to use a Golden Eagle to scout.

To be truthful I havent seen any of your anims, but if you can animate it is good, but you should make a mod to show your animating skills.

BTW: how good are you at modleing?

A, no, because I haven't really modeled all that much from scratch, I only do when I have to, and when I do it usually comes out good, but I've been having trouble with my monsters head, though I've kinda given up on him.

Want an opinion?  Go ahead with the historical romans.  Just make sure you use more tools than the pencil tool and the color selection box.  :P  Not that you always do that, granted.  I think that you should not listen to people who say fantasy is the only way to go-- media completely grounded in fact, just based on historical events have still gotten good reviews.  I believe that Age of Empires was one of the top games of the year for several years, and Titanic grossed well at the box office.

Just trust me, they aren't historical looking, the shields have lightning on them, Roman shields didn't have lightning on them. :P

The helmets and weaponry seem to be the worst offenders when it comes to historical (in)accuracy.

Sorry Eliminator but you're wrong, I did do a Google search, what you claim to be lightning is actually arrows. :P

The shields I saw have eagle wings sprouting out from the center of the shield, and then arrows coming out of the center of the shield, my theory is that the Wings and the arrows pointing the way they are is a symbol of conquest and imperial expansion. :)

A significant improvement Romans will actually be done. we need to do this with MegaPack, I think it would be much more fun to have the main and best factions together in only techree. as japonese, but for this to happen MegaPack would want to have a balance with japonese, an update on the MegaPack. I approve your idea of ​​Roman historically. but we can create it in a way MegaPack that fits. Eventually would be good to have the Spartan faction, possibility to have a historic war between Spartans x Persians.
