Model-Size

Hi,

does anyone know how to see the ingame model size in blender ?
I need to create models which have for example the size of exactly 4 fields.

I'm pretty sure that one unit in blender is also one unit in glest due to the conversion process taking it one-to-one. The cube (1x1x1) that is in a new .blend by default is almost exactly as tall as a swordman, I know.

Yes, what Hectate said is correct.  The typical human model in Glest is just over 2 units tall.  If you want a unit to take up four squares in Glest, then it should take up four squares in Blender.  Also, as Archmage said, you can put another Glest model next to it for size comparison.

You can see here, the red line is the ground, the dark gray lines represent one unit, and the light gray lines are .1 unit, so the man is about 2.1 units tall.

A map's width and height are given in 'tiles', and the last row and column are not displayed for technical reasons.  A tile is 2x2 'cells', these are one unit square. So a 64 * 64 map is effectively 126 * 126 cells, and hence 126 * 126 units across.

Note: despite the last row and column of tiles not existing in the game, they are shown in the map editor.
