This scenario is a long lasting one. Expect about 1 to 2 hours game with fun and skill.

The story is set where the pagans of the medieval world have come to wage a war against those who opposed magic. King Uther did not allow such practises and separated his kingdom from those who were the defiled. The pagans have lost all of their homelands, and have their final town to be destroyed. They seek one hero who will save them all. Save them and end the war, and let magic roam through Camelot again!

Status:

COMPLETED!!!

Basic overview:
Just the same as a normal Glest game but the thing is, you only control two units. A hero unit and a fountain of life. You need to hold cover for your ally for as long as possible. He will eventually make dragon units and stronger ones and destroy the opponents. If one of your units die, you lose. If your ally dies, you lose. If you destroy BOTH enemies' castles (Or maybe even more if they construct more), you win.

How to play:
Although you control two units, one of them is a permanently stationed unit, meaning it cannot move. All it does it heals. Your other unit is your hero. It is controlled like a normal unit, and has up to 20 ranks to become stronger. To heal, move your hero beside the fountain of life and click heal on the fountain (Be sure that the hero is North West of the fountain and next to it, Glest has a bug of not making it reach far enough to be able to heal).

When you are in battle, DO NOT just let your hero attack and leave it to keep on killing. This isn't the real Glest, you need to make your hero move back and forward to keep it alive. If you just treat it as a normal unit in Glest (Where you just make it attack and leave it to do), you will lose in a matter of minutes. You can also purchase items from the fountain. You can only purchase 4 out of 6 upgrades. So choose wisely.

Tips:
Pay full attention to your hero. Worry about its survival. Since Glest has the 'ranged evasion' function, it is really difficult to damage enemies while they charge at you. But if you insist, it would take a while to kill them. Here are some techniques that are used:

Kitting:
Attack the opponent move to the left, attack again move up, attack again move right, attack again move down. Practically your moving around them will attacking. You can try a single attack before clicking but about 1/8 of your attacks will hit. You could try 2 but that risks getting hit.

Precise training:
Focus on your enemies' health. When one is low on health, you immediately attack it, so you gain the kill. This is the most fastest way to level up killing opponents units. Perfect this and your hero will be level 20 in no time.

Unfair training:
This is a tactic where you kill your own ally's units. Just kill their daemons at the start and you will level fast in no time. Beware that your ally may spend even more resources just to produce again what they lost.

Back stabbing:
Really unfair against the AI, but who cares? When your ally and your enemy is fighting a big war in the middle of the map or where ever, get your hero and sneak around to their base and sabotage their workers and farms. This will make some or even most of the enemies' units fall back to protect their base. This gives your units some regenerating time and gives your ally time to make more units while they are chasing them.

Another good idea is to save up on the hero's Flare ability so that you can 'last hit' enemies to get you the kill. And this attack is much faster than the basic one. Beware of its EP cost, you can't always use this so save it up!

Remember to keep going to your fountain to heal. Don't go to your fountain and wait for your HP to go 100% full. I did this and by the time I was done, the enemy already had 'last battles leftovers' and a new army as well at our base. And we were f***ed. Last battles leftover means the remaining troops from a battle, I call it battle because AI's use close to similar times of sending attacks.

Feel free to edit, learn off. This scenario was easy to make but the game play is hard. Expect a "siege" scenario next time, and this one will be a bit more difficult to code but should be easy to beat. You can also release your upgraded version, im happy to play other people's version of this scenario. Rename it, edit, I don't care. Also please use different maps, I had no idea for this one so I just used one that came with Glest.

Install p7zip, or use the Windows version of 7-zip with WINE and still there are more options than those. :P

Comments and suggestions and addons are welcome :) Give me a break at the moment, ill make my new 'siege and conquer' scenario when I feel like it, and it would probably be the best scenario ill make at the moment.

Quote from my friend:

"I really liked this scenario. Took me a few tries but I finally done it. It could have had a better map but it looked good enough and one tip for this scenario to beat it is: Focus. Anyway a good job well done on it Josh"

Sounds cool, I'll try it later. Is this vanilla glest or GAE?

Sounds RPG-like from what I've read.

Good work, Scenario.

Is it possible to create a hero for the enemy? I'm thinking of modifying the script but it seems not possible with lua?
