Hi,titi!
I edited the following modification method xml file, but did not produce a black particle effects, I do not know why???

cool screenshot!

Black particles are in svn now!  ( there is no data changed yet, only code!)

needed xml-code in the particle definition:

I will have to look at it when I'm at home ( 5 hours from now ). Anyone else has problems or can confirm that its working or not?

Which version did you test? Did you compile it on your own or did you use the linux binary? Maybe something is wrong with the binary release.

Hi, titi! I tested version is: megaglest3.2.4-1-beta3_linux, I provide you with the modification method in accordance with modified xml file, but there has been no black particle effects, is still before the white particle effects!

now I know whats wrong:

you have to set the color to black( or nearly black ) if you want to see an effect:

<color red="0.1" green="0.1" blue="0.1" alpha="0.33" />

In accordance with the changes you have just given way, I just modified the campfire.xml documents, fire_particles.xml and fire_particles2.xml it should also be amended???

I modified the black particle effects are still there!

I don't understand anything you are talking about :/ 
But the changes have to be made in smoke_particles.xml

By the way: Would you please provide firegolem fire red particle effect, I like it, I think the campfire produced firegolem body is no fire red particle effect, I think it is very strange!

I think that the body must have a fire firegolem red particle effect, thank you!

Edit the particle image itself to be the color you need, IIRC the one you're using is designed for the original modes and wouldn't work properly for the new blend functions.

There is no need to edit the particle image. This is only used for the alpha calculation or am I wrong?

Now i have a problem!

Can someone please verify it, its probably only my grafphics card driver:
Choose tileset winterforest( it has fog enabled ) and look at the black particles ( you will need some of course ).

For me the result looks really strange!

found it! It will be fixed with the next version!

I have to set    
glDisable(GL_FOG);
for the particle rendering. I think this bug was in original glest too but you didn't really saw it, but the fire of a building was burning too bright in tileset winter forest

Not excatly the problem I see but I think the flames in the front are too bright compared to other tilesets.
The other problem might be a problem of my gfx card driver ( an older nvidia one ) but i think it will look much better with my fix.
You will see ( but I will not checkin for this single line now )
