Well, I was thinking about making a Barbarian faction a while from now, and now that he's going to take that idea, I really hope he isn't going to waist it like he did his other ideas.

First of all, I am redoing all the mods before pack 4, and Tiger is making the mod but I help him a bit here and there.
But Barbarians should be in Vbros.
Get the Vbros': Packs 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5!

Yeah, but the 4th pack stills needs to be improved, the penguin and PC factions still have those problems.

But then which pack would the the Barbarians be in...?

That's a big improvement!  The battering ram is impressive.  I think the texture on the buildings could be improved, though.  Maybe you could look through the stone and wood pictures on burningwell.org and see if there's anything you could use.

The models are great, and the textures are pretty good too, but without proper animation they'll look terrible, I see a guy walking extremely strangely in the last picture. :(

I could assist a little with walking and running animations maybe?
Not do them for you, just get you started better, and fix problems.

the archer pic is not walking it is the attacking skill The walking skill looks really good.

by the way that battering ram took a long time to make like over a hour.....

so It should be fairly good.

arch, do you HATE elim? it seems your very negative and that is not good feedback, good feedback is positive respons, like, instead of saying, "i see a weird walking animation", you could say: What animation is that on the last pic?

Gabbe, this is excellent feedback, I'm trying to get him to improve his animation, the Vejvoda's are pretty damn good at modeling and texturing, but animating, that's their weak spot. No I do not HATE Elim at all, I'm just trying really hard to help him improve his animation, not to brag, but I've passed him by far in animation, and he tought me!

So I guess I'm just trying to repay the favor, and help. :)

It's decent, but that's not how you shoot a bow. :-\

Your guy is holding the bow directly in front of his body, which means he can only draw it back a couple inches.  Try it yourself and see how bad it looks.

Look here:

The body is turned sideways, with the head looking forward, and the string is drawn across the body.  This is the proper way to shoot a bow.

Here's my refined Faction Tree ;D:

starting units

barbarian(worker, uses club, replaces stickfighter) x5
fortress(Castle) x1
Hunter(Light Archer) x1
Warrior(Infantry) x1
boar x1

(barbarian can build)

hunting tent
Boar Pen(Barbarians were more meat-eaters than farmers, they would raid villages for food, or just cook and eat one of their animals, replaces farm)
fortress
bonfire(with particles)
Warriors Camp
(what the hell is a fire launcher?!?! ???)
hut(replaces house)

(hunting tent can make)

Hunter
Great Hunter(after tough training upgrade)
and upgrade expert hunting(+20 damage for Hunters)

(Boar Pen can make)

boar
upgrade wings

(fortress can make)
Warlord(very powerful unit, requires leadership upgrade)
Berserker(very powerful unit, requires extreme training)
Warlord's Personal Guard(very powerful unit, requires extreme training)

(bonfire can make )
(The Bonfire is a very very short range defensive building)
Upgrade: Research Fire Arrows
If an enemy unit gets too close it get's burnt :D

(warriors camp can make )
(your battering ram model is awesome, but barbarians weren't into that kind of siege...sorry but that has absolutely no place in this mod... :()
Hawk(replaces Raven of Fire, and doesn't morph into anything, very good against air, but no ground attack)
Axe Thrower(attacks ground only)
Axeman(uses one-handled axe and has shield)
Heavy Axeman(Just another name for the Battle Axe man, requires tough training upgrade)
Bowman(can shoot a fire arrow as well as a regular arrow, requires fire arrow upgrade)
Crossbowman(requires tough training upgrade)
upgrades tough training
upgrades leadership(requires tough training upgrade)
upgrades extreme training(slow upgrade speed, requires leadership upgrade)

(hut can make)
barbarian
female warrior(uses a sword)

I think this is a much better faction tree layout, how bout it? :)



Yes, John is correct, although a kneeling position can be used, but that's use for stationary troops only, because it's too hard to have to kneel all the time just too shoot, and besides your kneeling position is not correct anyway.

The kneeling isn't a problem.  In fact, it makes the archer a smaller target for the enemy.  The way the body is turned and how the string is drawn are the problems.

YAh, but it'll look pretty crazy in Glest having the guy kneeling and the getting up and then kneeling and then getting up and then kneeling again and so forth... :P

sorry arch i'm not changing all my models...

but I'll try to fix the attacking anim of the archer.

I'm not making the worker able to attack because the bots will be bad at it. every time someone attacks he's send all his workers attacking up. so making the worker attack is a bad idea....
and a fire launcher is a nonmovable  catapult.

BTW I watched a barbarian video and they had battering rams in is so I think I will keep that unit in.

Well, then call this mod something else, I reserve that name for the right mod, which in the future I plan to create!
Don't tell me it was your idea I've been thinking about it forever, and if you're not willing to do it right than name it something else. 8)
Call it the Tiger Barbarians or something, it'll sound cool to even those who don't know you exist! ;)
