Make the stone columns look dirty - add moss/lichen to portions of the column feet and stone mortar seams.  Add Mossy grass to the edges of the wood roof. The heavy wooden headers should not look like freshly milled lumber from a saw mill.  Make the the wood look old, dirty and leave bark on it - wood exposed to the weathering effects of sun, rain and freezing turns dark, cracks and splits and is water stained. Barbarians lack the technology to mill lumber to perfect proportions so the wood headers should be rounded with slightly pointy axe-hewn ends! .... unless they happen to be Canadian barbarians or really smart beavers.

The default gold resource node models show moss growth around the base of the rock and dark gray speckles which make them look old and weather-beaten. Look at the Mage Library/Magic faction building - see the moss and dirt? It looks old. Same with the Woodsman guild building - it has dirty, mossy wood and weathered old stone.

Well, than I guess I'll have to create another barbarian faction someday, and I have made other mods, I just haven't released them. :P

I'm so tired of watching you guys rip through one idea after another, just promise me this one is going to be good, actually good and worth playing.

It would really be nice if when you asked for ideas from the public you didn't have the mod done and without good plans, maybe I'd be willing to do all the work myself(to reconstruct it), but this would have to be a very good mod for me to want to do that.

Dude, you models and textures are great in this mod, it's just that I really don't want you guys to spoil it by making little up down animations.

I don't define the rules, ok. It's just obvious that a mod like Woodsmen is many times the quality of the average mod, it that's not obvious to you then maybe I can understand why you think I'm the only one who sees the pattern to your mods.

YAh, but it'll look pretty crazy in Glest having the guy kneeling and the getting up and then kneeling and then getting up and then kneeling again and so forth... :P

Actually, there wouldn't be anything wrong with making the archer's idle "standing" animation a kneeling animation instead. When they're done walking, they crouch on one knee to camouflage themselves and make a smaller target, as well as being prepared to shoot immediately. When they need to move they get up and move.

But that's just a thought on my part.

He was talking about my suggestion I think. There's not an animation set up for going from walking to kneeling. The system assumes that the walking animation is closely similar to the "standing" animation so he would go from walking to immediately kneeling when he stops without actually performing a "kneel" animation. It would look odd, I agree.
