I almost agree with you on this, except that I'm a moderator, and us moderators have the ability to stop off-topic posting abuse, unless that problem becomes to big, I believe us moderators can stop the abuse, and things can stay like this. Although if the problem becomes bigger, than than one of the moderators will probably re-open this discussion, and then we would decide what action to take.

So basically, as long as we can handle the issues, off-topic posts will count, if we can't then.....we'll see, but don't ask me to predict the future.

Can you agree with that?

I think the mere fact an OT post counts to your post count is in itself and abuse!

That's partially what I was trying to say with the "Increase your post count" thread: abuse the abuse! Or in other words... We're already covertly abusing post counts, so let's do it in the open then!
