i like this idea, we really need to try to use Spring stuff, since they are far more advanced than us.

I made a new topic of this one , hope its ok? ( I only only know them from videos )

The black smoke behind the projectiles is something I have on my list :).
Are there any other particles that are missing for you?

( by the way, the way the projectiles fly in springRTS will not be implemented very soon. )

I changed the title due to an awesome thing, AI, more complex AI will stretch the moddablility(lol) for glest! think of an AOE3 like glest?

I have to agree , spring rts engine is highly more advanced then glest its like dsl vs T1 no comparison really , but the difference is simplicity  :D

I don't understand anything now? Looks like you mix up everything. What has Ai to do with particles, and the gameplay of AOE3?

Everyone is talking about his preferred RTS game and just sees the things that are missing in glest. Glest is not Spring , Glest is not AOE3 glest is not Warcraft3 and glest is not Starcraft. Glest is Glest. Please keep this in mind!

But of course there are some things which might be nice to see in glest. So what feature(s) do you have in mind which would fit to glests gameplay?

( and comparing glest and spring, I don't think that spring can handle this huge amount of trees and objects in a map, or am I wrong? As I said, I think its not a good idea to compare these games, these are simply different games with different gameplay.)

I love the particle effects they are just amazing , deff the huge cannons , but the models could use some improvements , but i want that SYSTEM how do we put that into glest  :D

lmfao i think it could help to look at their code and see how they produce this and see how we can configure it to work for the glest engine without breaking it

Yea lets , i'm starting to learn how to code and it all seems to be tied to algorithm's which is sweet if you like math  :D

well, I must admit, they can handle these lots of trees ...  :o

And these explosions are really good! But sadly we will not do this yet. At the moment we have a masterserver in mind!

?? the megaglest code is at sourceforge and of course you can look at it, its open source!
