Despite all the problems the mages might be having I already heard sounds of battle outside, a soldier raced up the stairs, shouting for me, then I heard a crossbow twang and someone tumbling down the stairs then I got an idea, I flipped over a table, lit a molotov cocktail and placed it by the door, before rushing to hide behind the table...

thats when i realized that i was knocked unconscious during the first siege of the city. as i rose to my feet, i could see that i was being protected by a row of ents.

"climb up me, and ill get you to safety," one said.

I climbed onto the ent and was once again in our half of the city where mages were everywhere slaughtering soldiers and civilians alike, I saw the remaining cavalry and ordered them to charge, and the charge came on the magic and they broke, and were being driven to the gates when...

Gabbe thats spam posting and remember what Zoythrus said, no god endings that end the story instantly.

I screamed,"fire the bombards and catapults, launch the bombers and airships, crossbowmen and arbalestiers get in formation". the golems were getting in range and so I shouted,"first row fire" they shot and ducked down reloading,"second row fire". This process kept on going until very few of the golems were left and they started a boulder exchange with the ents. Supporting daemons and our crossbowmen were slaughtered by the barrage. then the daemons started rushing forward with ladders, morlocks and imps, there were also dark beings and awful one wheeled machines with saw blades.

"This just gets better and better!" i remarked as i watched the carnage.

I got off the ent and picked up a firearm. thanks to the warfare training that my dad gave me, i was able to pick off a few daemons. after a few hours of defending the village from the magical freaks, victory was looking certain until...

Large, and ferocious balls of fire, came hurtling down through the sky, slamming into the ground, and throwing troops flying.

A large fleet of dragons came swooping at them, whipping up at the last minute, and unleashing massive fireballs, dealing devastating damage.

This was it time for our well prepared ambush. A red flag was flown and out of the sun flew ornithopters and gryffon riders cutting through the unprepared dragons in their first attack pass. Despite their fear crossbowmn and cannoneers fired bringing many of the beasties down. The tank was using its side mounted ballista to shoot at the dragons causing further damage...

Oh, were talking about Glest Dragons not Dragons.
Glest Dragons lack scales, and Dragon scales could not be penetrated by any weapons of Tech's time.

I think even today we don't have weapons powerful enough to pierce Dragon scales. It would be cool if they existed though.

Back to the story:

THe dragons were hurling fireballs much faster and more accurately than the ambush could muster, the ambush wasn't working.

This was when we pulled in the specialists, the 72nd anti air battalion moved in firing arbalests with reinforced armor piercing arrows, they also had telescopes mounted to enhance their aiming skill, dragons were falling but was it enough to win the day, I could already hear shouts for an evacuation from the city to safer areas...

all of the opposing army stopped, looked around, then began to flee. We won! yes we suffered the losses of thousands of men, dwarves, and elves; but they suffered even more. Today was a victory!

but in the middle of the celebration, i looked down and realized that i had blood running down my side...
