Okay, here's what I'm come up with in the past two days:

Their numbers are few, so they use minions of various other races to fight for them and cater to their whims. The Overlords are of aquatic origins, but once they firmly established their empire under the sea, they set their sights on dry land. They had previously dominated simple sea creatures through direct mind-control, but when they encountered the land-dwelling Orcs, they used their psionic powers to impersonate gods. After a short demonstration of power, the Orcs quickly submitted to their new masters. Now the Dynasty, ever hungry for more power, seeks to expand both below the waves and on the ground.
The Dynasty (working title) is a hybrid of the Invertebrate and Orc factions, with the units from Fluffy's Orc diagram in
this thread serving as the ground troops, and using the Invertebrates as naval/marine troops. I intentionally left out the air units in order to balance out their aquatic advantage, but I'm pretty flexible on this point. Hence, I've come up with the following faction diagram:

* Chum - reptilian worker unit (changed to a reptile so he can be more amphibious)
o War Banner - raises population cap by rallying more Orcs
o Outpost - flimsy tower with weak attack but excellent line-of-sight
o Proving Grounds
+ Axeman - basic Orc warrior
+ Pathfinder - Orc scout, can morph into a Tracker
# Tracker - Orc javelineer
+ Sasquatch - an armored ape-like beast (renamed from War Chum)
+ Guardian - elite Orc infantry who wields a hammer with a shockwave attack
+ Crab Warrior - amphibious anthropomorphic crustacean (not sure if this should be crab or a crab-like humanoid)
o Pit - enables advanced beast units
+ Tamer - Orc with a whip, can morph into other units
# Bulf - a Tamer mounted on a mammoth siege unit
# Rino - a Tamer mounted on... umm... something?

o Shaman Tent
+ Shaman - Orc magic user, heals allies and curses enemies

o Trench - underwater building, trains advanced aquatic units (can use Wciow's oxygen vent model)
+ Nautilus - giant aquatic unit with heavy armor (already modeled)
+ Kraken - giant ship-crushing squid (can use Wciow's giant squid)
o Spire - recruits overlord units, can be built on land or underwater
+ Psion - amphibious unit with tremendous mental powers

Anyway, known issues: This tree could use some pruning! Currently there are a heck of a lot of units, and some could probably stand to be omitted. Also, this is
extremely tentative, so please post feedback. If you think this idea sucks, let me know. If you think it's great, let me know that too. If there's anything you think should be changed, by all means say it!
