it seems like its having a problem loading up something named wood inside of the academy i mean thats obvious , but i haven't played this mod so i wouldn't know anything about it , but try looking in the xml to see anything that could have something to do with this wood

Well, my best bet is to just to re download the elves faction again, or just "extract n' copy' again...  :|
Also, try using megaglest.  ::)
So usually, if I encounter these types of problems, I just "re-install" the mod/faction.
Good Luck.  :)

That means whatever tech tree you've put him in doesn't have that attack type.  You'll have to either add instant to the tech tree XML, or edit the prince's attack type to something else.

Kris, you probably downloaded 0.9, because that's on the first post, I'd really like to start working on Elves again sometime in the future... :|

Every version has problems........ :(

@ kris9700:
There is an "Elf faction" topic on this very board. Questions and issues about any specific mod should be posted on the original topic for the mod (the topic its author(s) created). Use the Search box and button on the top of the forum (on the right side) to look for something a mod's thread. ;)

@ Archmage:
Could you maybe move this thread to the end of the Elf faction one...? :P

I tried to change it to a different attack type but it still dident work. but i tried the same thing on the dwarfs fraction ( i was having the same problem ) and it worked.
I never heard of that problem with the Dwarves (and I'm the guy currently responsible for it).
For the repetition (Elves and Dwarves) and the type of errors you reported, I would say you probably edited your techtree XML (that would be techs/magitech/magithech.xml if you added the elves and dwarves to Magitech; it will be whatever other techtree you've put them in otherwise).
If you've put these factions in Magitech, adding stuff to that XML is usually alright. Changing values may or may not be alright. Deleting stuff from it will certainly cause problems!
If on the other hand you "created" a new techtree with its own XML, please note the following:
1. The Dwarf faction is made to be fully compatible with Magitech. This means all you have to do for it to work is add it to a techtree that includes everything that is in magitech.xml (the original non edited file), e.g. adding it to the mentioned above magitech tree folder.
2. The Elf faction is a little bit more complex but assumes you're adding it to Magitech as well. But in this case, unlike the Dwarves, you have to add not only the elves folder to techs/magitech/factions but also grace to techs/magitech/resources . ;)
Note: I simplified the last two paragraphs to include the factions to the Magitech techtree but I'm sure you understood what to do in case you want them in some other techtree. ;)

Cheers! :)
