[fixed] Glest LAN Bug!
« on: 10 April 2010, 11:45:50 »
Today, I LAN with my friends when I try to play against the press "Find Lan Game" button, found no response, I and my friend's computer is connected via network cable! We shut down the computer firewall, we use the latest Glest version (Glest3.3.3 the windows version)!
Hi, Softcoder! Please help me, thank you!

Tom, for both computers you should notice the port# displayed on eac screen. VBecause you build your own mega-glest and don't use our install glest.ini file you may have different port #'s which means your computers cannot find each other. Check your glest.ini file and see if you have the following setting:

ServerPort=61357

Thanks

EDIT: Looks like for people with more than 1 Network card there is a problem with UDP broadcasts. I do have a solution and will post an update (with the other win32 fixes). The update will work for Linux, Win32 and Mac.

Here is the latest windows dev version with latest bugs fixed:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/megaglest/files/in_development/megaglest3.3.4-dev_i386_win32_bin.7z/download

This includes fixes for:
- Crash during lobby chat (related to fonts)
- Language fallback to English if native language not found
- Lan Auto connect searching now properly works with multiple network card configurations.
