Robot player leaves strategy after a time

I've experienced this in Glest 3.2.2 and other previous versions:

If you are in a customized play against 3 robot players (all CPU ultra, everybody with single team), if you don't kill the other robot players then one of them kills the others (of course).

There is a time when you are alone with the only robot survivor, and if the game takes a lot of time, there is a point when the robot doesn't harvest more resources. This is a problem because leaves the game easy for the human.

getting to that point would proove difficult...atleast for me... ::)

Maybe there aren't any resources to harvest... :|

Eh, this happens in MegaGlest and GAE too, so it is almost like naturalish...  ::)  :O

Still...  ::) I mean, what is the point of this board anyways, if Vanilla/Original Glest is not going to be worked upon/updated...  ::)

Yes, that happens to me too, whether it is Glest, megaglest, or GAE..

Since it is an AI issue, it is probably going to be hard  to fix...  ::)  :|

For me too and I think I really played a lot of very long games!
Which factions are affected by this? All?

Things I can imagine:
- The ultra-CPU player cheats when harvesting ressources. He always gets 3 times more gold/stone/wood then a normal player.
So maybe he already has enough ressources and thats why he doesn't harvest.

- the workers get stuck. This is a known problem but its not so easy to fix.

Yesterday I saw this with a tech human against 3 magic ultra-robots. The last robot lost without harvesting, and then without building more forces to fight.

The final scenario had a robot without forces and easy to destroy. Easier than a having non-ultra robot.

I believe that the robot's "initiates" only went to a single gold resource, and when the human with 1 or 2 "archers" kills the "initiates" one by one, the robot doesn't defend accurately nor produce more "initiates" nor goes to any of the other gold resources in its influence zone.

yes, something are as you describe:
- the AI will only walk to the nearest possible ressource
- the AI does not produce more and more initiates. It stops( or nearly stops ) producing them after a while when the AI thinks it has enough workers.

But that he doesn't tries to defend is not good. This can happen if the gold is far away from the main building and the attackers are not inside the "ultimate attack zone". The "ultimate attack zone" is a special radius around your main building. If any enemy unit is seen inside this region, the CPU player will attack the attacker with all fighting units he has.
But if the archers stand outside this region, they will not be attacked.
( thats not the whole truth, because its more complicated, but generally this is the base behaviour )
