how bout a nice Griffin unit for the magic tech that can both be land and air. you could accomplish that be a land/take off button that morphs the unit at a fast speed.

sigh. another air unit for the magic faction will cause the magic faction to be more imbalanced than it really needs to be. If anything the dragon needs to be nerfed severely.

it air abuse, i prefer to call it "mass air unit manipulation"

ok, so what if I mass air. whatever makes them go down.

daemon giant looking sharp, just wondering if it can attack air (it being so bloody huge and all)

The gryphon is not feasible because the engine doesn´t support units which are terrestrial and aerial at the same time.

In the expansion we´ll try to reduce the power of the aerial units by including a powerful anti-air unit for each faction; those will be static units so that they will only be located in the settlements. In this way it won´t be possible to win a game by devastating a settlement with aerial units only, it will be necessary first to send terrestrial untis to destroy the anti air ones.

Trasha, what I said above goes for you too. Given how things are going, I must ask for an extra politeness from now on, so if you can´t keep this discussion without being on the edge to or plainly insulting each other, then please leave.

but really GTivvyBathurst, is having veriaty in air units "air abuse"?

that would mean that attacking with alot of land units is land abuse, or the same with sea units, (if they ever get made).

the way I see it, as long as there is ballance, nothing is "abuse". each player should be able to play in there own way, as long as it does not unballance the game and cause one unit to win the game when massed.

lol oops. I dont think I can explain this properly. More air units would cause players to go for air units and milk them for all they're worth. The solution: Air-to-Air units with NO ground attack.

Why must I change thetileset in the game to see a different object? Why can't I choose the exact model I want in the map?              :'(

Because this keeps consistency. But you are right that some of the objects change if you change the tileset, like the statue. The thing is that the number of objects a tileset can have is fixed and limited, and until martin-o makes it so that one can make a tileset with as many objects as desired, we thought that making tilesets where some of the "ornamental" objects change would be a good tradeoff. also, it´s true that the objects change, but they´re still of the same kind.

Yes, they´re ornamental. In fact there´s only one kind of "harvestable" tree.

I think it could work like an upgrade.... when the Helicopter or the Griffin is on the ground, you can click on the button to "morph" it into an air unit, and when it is on the air, you can make them to become a ground unit....

Is it possible?

Other new unit for the Glest expansion: The Dragon Rider, she is the cavalry unit for the magic faction, finally I didn't make the centaur, because the unit and the attack were too similar to the horseman unit of the tech faction.

Thanks for your comments, Guntahaha and Ropi.

Martin-o made some changes on the tileset objects, Now there will be more objects but the way of putting them in the maps will be a bit different.

Very soon we will post more information about this in this forum.
