Problems with model
« on: 16 May 2010, 23:19:52 »
I'm not sure if this is the right forum, although I'd presume so.

I have been trying to add my basic temple model into the game, and it works for the most part, however, the main body parts of the two external columns don't show up, only the top and the base.

I have no idea why, I'll upload the temple file in a moment to allow you to check it if you so wish.

I bet you forgot to do "quads to triangle", so only the parts using triangles are shown in the game. Quads are ignored

I did do quads to triangles, I have done it with all other models that I have added to the game. This is the third model that I have added, and the only one to have done this, or something similar.

upload it in a .obj and i'll try to export it using max , it could be as easy as you might not have a material set to the model or that piece of the model , but upload it to .obj and i'll see what i can do if you want

I think you forgot to select all your faces when you did the quad-->triangle thing, because I see your cylinders are still made of quads.  You have to select all the faces you want to change.  Pretty much anything you do in Edit Mode applies only to the vertices/edges/faces you have selected. ;)

With quads (left) and with tris (right):

Thank you, John, for the help. The problem was that the faces of the pillars, were not selected when converting to triangles. Again, I thank you sincerely for the help.
