Are there gonna be different factions first of all, but here's general ideas, rifleman, machinegun squad, sergeants with pistols, grenadiers, big bertha trenches, barb wire, strongpoints such as bunkers and pillboxes, faction specific tanks and aircraft(I will name these once you tell me the factions), flame teams, anti tank riflemen, land mines, cannons, armored cars gas cannons, anti aircraft guns.

I will be more faction specific when you name the factions

sum1s gotta fill the big gaps...lets put god there XD

Factions, primarely UK, Germany, France [who wants nazi zombies from WaW? XD]

EDIT: russia, and i will have Norway there too! no matter what!

Another edit: what engine? GAE or MG or WFM [wait for merger]

It's good to see WW1 getting a little recognition.  There have been way too many WW2 and Vietnam games. :P

Anyway, if you want to give Norway a bigger part, you could go with an "alternative history" route, which would also allow you to be a little more creative.

The british could have the following
lee-enfield rifleman-best standard infantry in game, the brits had the best riflemen in the world at the time can fight aircraft.
vickers machine gun-heavy machine gun, must be entrenched to fire, can be taken apart to move can fight aircraft.
lewis machine gun-light machine gun, can be fired from hip or entrenched and fired from a tripod can fight aircraft.
field piece-standard medium range artillery can be useful as a direct fire support weapon must be taken apart to move, I'll find out the specific type used later.
Howitzer-long range artillery, superior to field piece.
trench mortar-light portable medium range weapon.
flame thrower-short range heavy damage dealing weapon beats all ground units if close enough.
field medic-heals infantry.
grenadier-grenade throwing infantryman.
lancer-cavalry armed with a bamboo lance or sword and a carbine.
specialist lee enfield sniper-long range infantry unit, good against infantry and can shoot against aircraft.
gas cannon-long range poison gas throwing weapon.
anti aircraft gun-anti aircraft gun can shoot at ground targets.
motorcycle-fast scout unit with low armor and attack.
Lancaster armored car-well armored and machine gun armed armored car good versus infantry and for scouting can shoot at aircraft.
little willie landship-unarmed tank with ability to fix other tanks, can be upgraded to have a hotchkiss machine gun.
tank mk1-basic machine gun armed tank vulnerable against cannon, anti tank guns, flamethrowers and aircraft, useful against infantry slowwww.
whippet-fast mg(machinegun) armed tank late game replacement for cavalry and superior to mk1 tank.
male mk4 tank-6pounder cannon armed tank, near immune to anti tank guns and aircraft with machine guns but still vulnerable against field guns and flamethrowers, can fight other tanks, slowwwww.
female mk4 tank-same as male mk4 tank but armed with mgs, can't really fight other tanks.
b2c-slow vulnerable, light bomb armed scout plane.
dh2-pusher fighter, basic air combat unit.*
dh9-advanced air recon unit, can fight air to air, better bombs and speed.
Handley page 0/400-medium bomber, can fight air to air, heavy bomb attack and high hp.
sopwith pup-mid game fighter, faster and has better hp then dh2, good unit.*
Sopwith camel-best air to air fighter even better then sopwith pup.*
observation balloon-large sight no defense or attack, weak look out unit.

*can be upgraded with strut mounted rockets.

This is ww1 not ww2 the nazis didn't exist yet.  ::)

speaking of making the general Gabbe you should also make a sergeant to raise morale but also to fight with a pistol.
I suggested to make a grenadier cuz the dumb ai won't use secondary attacks.
your confusing mortars with bombards, but only the germans used those thoughs.(Big Bertha)

Okay, the history so far.

1918, Norway and the UK have formed a alliance to rule the world, Germany and France have opposed this, because that is thier gain aswell. Germany are the best when it comes to producing artillery and swift attacks [blitz action] for quickly neutralize the opponent, UK have such a supernavy that they rule on the seas! [only if GAE or WfM] Norway have a good economy and can produce gold and other resources at a high speed rate. France got the awesome towers that can stop a invading force with ease.

The handley page is a bomber and the scout aircraft are also bombers ::) ::)

field pieces are a mix between cannons and howitzers.
just make it sniper.
flamethrowers and motorcycles were very popular.
there could be a gas mask state.
cavalry was still used in mass charges during ww1 ::)
whippet should be there the english had the best tanks.
the handley page 0/400 was a late war bomber.
the other fighters, the sopwith pup and camel could have a third fighter bomber the se5.
the lancaster armored car is meant to fight not carry troops ::) ::)
the difference between male and female tanks is that the male tanks have cannons while the female tanks have machine guns.
I got some ideas for the navy equipment and remember only the british completed an aircraft carrier(the Argus) by the end of the war.
most people used seaplane tenders and seaplanes.
the Short 184 could be a torpedo bomber.
make the camel into a sea camel for navy fighting and replace it with the se5 on land.
I have other suggestions if you want them, and no offense but I don't like the units on your techtree

I have some suggestions for troops for all factions but I will name them as this topic unfolds.
The little willie was a pre tank that was used to carry weapons and supplies.
By the way gabbe change the tank pic on the tech tree, its a liberty tank and those were made in the 1920's
The howitzer should be moveable by horse, but here's a suggestion, do not limit it to five units they did not do so much damage, instead make an ammo depot and say that you can have 2-3 howitzers for every one of these, I am implementing this into tech mk2
France should also have a surrender ability  :P :O

Germany should be very good all around and have the best heavy artillery and two very good late game tanks that I will name later and a captured british tank, their first generation aircraft should also be good, good bombers variety of gas upgrades, submarines.
England should have a great navy as you said, but also the best trained infantry(they could fire 20 rounds a minute with a rifle) and the best all around tanks especially in variety, their airforce could be good late game especially in the navy and bomber section.
Norway should have a great economy, as mentioned, but should also have a good coastal navy and coastal fortifications, ski troops ;D ;D.
France should good fortifications, though not as great as said, Norway should have better, they should have good late game light tanks but their other tanks should be the worst in the game ::) ::), average navy, great light artillery, their 75 millimeter howitzer allowed fire of up to 15 rounds a minute, good late game fighters.

If implemented I will mention the strengths of the russians and italians.

Glest needs to implement independent attack, like turrets, that way it would be epic to see battle ships exchanging volleys from turrets. It should also get an independent tileset warground or some thing with craters, burned trees and such.
I'm getting ahead  of myself though, I have to do w-pack, dwarf textures etc

It is very hard to take on all the information, but i will try, if your seriously in need of having this mod being fantastic, then i can use as long time as i have on amazons [which will be out sooner or later]
