Original:    2x * (dy/dx) + y = y2 * sqrt(x-(x2*y2))
Simplified: 2x * (dy/dx) = y * sqrt(-xyy)

How good did I do?
I can't simplify it anymore.

Sure you can. The point is to get it down to x = ?

I saw the answer to it, but it's WAY to complex to post in plain text and these mathmatic image generating sites don't work well on the dark grey of the board.

Ok, then how about:

x = y * sqrt(-xyy) / (dy/dx) / 2

No. The cheap way to do it would be:

x= (y * sqrt(-xyy) * (dy/dx))/x
But that's not correct. It's still incomplete.

It's been over a year since I did algebra, and I suck at remembering things.

As far as I know you're wrong...... Maybe I should send this to my old math teacher, she could solve this in about 2 seconds. :P

OMG! Did you quit math? Doesn't most maths use algebra? My math 8-20 courses have all used algebra in some ways.

Yea, I covered all different kinds of algebra last year(advanced classes).
But I don't remember all that much of it. :|

Back when I was learning it, I loved it! :cheesy:

Dude, I don't even go to school anymore. I'm self-taught. :D

Gabbe I've known Stephanie for a long time, you'd think I'd tell her sometime that I school myself. :|

2x * (dy/dx) + y = y2 * sqrt(x-(x2*y2))

hasn`t been solved cause

X  =  ?

so ? isn`t a number yet, therefore it is not solved? ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

x=Ke^{-\frac{2\sqrt{x-x^2y^2}}{xy}}
For those of you who can read LaTeX code, that's the answer. You can use a LaTeX generator to view it.

EDIT://
Ah, found a generator. Click to see the formula image.
http://latex.codecogs.com/gif.latex?x=Ke^{-\frac{2\sqrt{x-x^2y^2}}{xy}}

x=Ke^(-(2sqrt(x-x^2^2y^2))/(xy))
For those of you who can't read LaTeX, this works too, but is kinda messier...
