Death Penalty

Well the topic explains it all. Do you think we should have the death penalty or not. Why should we let bad criminals not die for the suffereings he did to others and such. Have you heard of the expression a eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth. If someone killed someone then I think they should die too.

Only the psychotics, they serve no good to the society, Here in Norway the worst punishment is 21 years, if you planned to kill someone and then covered it up with lies and such, then you`ll maybe get 21 years, most likely around 10. And for Rape we have 4 years, its so idiotic, if you rape someone you kill them almost, it should atleast be 30 years...

I personally think bad criminals(killers, rapists etc), should be sent to a coal mine for life with a 72 hour work week, miserable living conditions, and bad food, but since this ain't gonna happen death sentence definitely.

I think that criminals should be put in jail for an amount of years depending on their crimes, so they can sit there and suffer knowing the wrong they did.

Criminals in a US prison live better then a minimum wage earning family , they get recreation, good food, dessert, tv etc. they don't deserve any of it.

The big problem is that a lot of innocent people are convicted and sentenced!

I agree that is a problem but I don't really see a solution, and rich people can sometimes buy their way out which is also unfair.

I think the possibility that anyone who is innocent can be put to death based on bad evidence is enough to say that the death penalty is excessive.  I think the death penalty is carried from times and places where it was hard to keep people in jail for life.  Now, prisoners almost never escape.

no but then we have to waste food and shelter careing for them; if they deserve it then they should die. Like charles manson killed so many people but hes still alive and in jail for life. he deserves the death penatly

Stephanie, the death penalty will be painless for the guy. He wouldn't pay a penny(except for his jail time already of course) for what he's done, he would just go out painlessly like a light.

Jails are already built so we aren't "wasting" shelter, we have it to use, and I believe that it's much better to let them spend the rest of their lives suffering with the knowledge of the wrong they did. As for food, just give them some kind of nutrient paste. Give them the option of a proper meal if the family provides it or some company donate some meals.

I have mixed opinions. I do believe that serious crimes are worthy of the death penalty, but theres also the conflicting thoughts of "Does killing a killer solve anything?"
