3D pathfinding

Since this was the best feature i requested and people wanted it, i would ask if this is possible in the near future or is it years away?

You mean 4D path finder :P
I looked into what was planned for GAE and looked into the pathfinder improvements which is based on x, y and t, t = time, so one unit knows where another unit is going and if it can get to its spot before that unit if not it'll find an alternate route if possible, also units in groups will assemble themselves better rather than having one units circle others because its space has been blocked out, always funny to watch. So would need x, y, z and t lol!
Formations could also sort of come under the improved pathfinder as units could maybe find paths in groups if moving together.

I've always found the 4th dimension (not being time but in space) interesting, theory being that if you can draw a 3d shape into 2d then you can model a 4d shape as a 3d object, looks like randomness in 2d but a physical model looks interesting. -OT

Kinda was an answer, there's a ticket there for redoing the path finder so if it was to get z added (for mounting walls, etc) it would probably get done then which I think is a while away.

I answered, in a different topic :P

And 3D pathfinder so that you could have bridges and that some units walk under the bridge and that some can walk on the bridge.
This sort of thing will require more changes than just to the path-finder, some things like mountable walls and bridges might be available at some stage (depending on demand). But it is unlikely units will be able to walk under these bridges.

It would need a new map format (a very complicated one), that's the biggest problem/hold-up.
