FOR CODERS~!

 VERSION 1 | Lists of things Glest or Megaglest should improve, have, or change.

Features glest should have:

Game History; like records of your total kills, resources, soldiers and etc.

Servers

New User Interference (UI).

Ships that goes only on water.

Climbing on ladders / stairs;

A feature to rotate buildings before placing it; I suggest use the “R” key.

Morale (just a statistic); so like if you have more soldiers than your enemy your morale increases while your enemy’s morale drops.

Able to capture enemy barracks; Players should be able to capture only barracks; I have no concept for this…

Mines that are not visible to enemy’s radar / map; xml controlled ex: visible: false or something like that.

Map preview; when selecting the map there should be an image of the map below its name.

Able to make alliances.

Something that messages you that your “main” castle is under attack.

Have mountains that units can climb up to.

Unit formations.

Add like a rank on top of the soldier according to it’s rank. For example lets say my swordsman’s first rank is a private then he will have a private symbol on top of him and then if he rank up commander then he will have a commander symbol which of course is a model.

Attack Marco; in the unit’s xml

Changes glest should change:

Change projectile attacks; projectile weapons should be able to miss; for example archer’s arrows; should miss the target randomly and the accuracy can be modified through the archer’s xml. So the higher the accuracy the less missed shots.

Change the amount of unit in a group; perhaps more units should be in a group.
Improve on smooth game play.

Change automatically EP attack to a non EP attack when there are no EP left.

Improvements glest needs:

Smoother game plays like make it less laggy when having a lot of units.

Smoother multiplayer game; like I sometime disconnect from glest while play with my friends in less than 40 minutes so maybe glest can improve on that.

Independent movement for turrets would be nice. :)

Some are already done, like:

A feature to rotate buildings before placing it; I suggest use the “R” key.

And some of the stuff will be done hopefuly:

Able to make alliances.
Map preview; when selecting the map there should be an image of the map below its name.
Servers
Have mountains that units can climb up to.
Get the Vbros': Packs 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5!

Well since Glest is not being worked on anymore...this should be in the megaglest board...unless you are talking about GAE too...  ::)

That could be anything...or rather a lot of things,
I'll just say try the new stable megaglest...I mean the upcoming version...when it comes out.
I think we are still having problems...  :(

Water units...well, later.

For others, softcoder and Titi is focusing on stabilizing multiplayer basically for now...After that, we'll see...
For GAE, I don't know... New version coming up though,  :thumbup:

Perhaps there's a need for a feature request forum. Then if there are issues with specific implementations they can be discussed in their respective forums. It would separate the features that are actually being worked on from those that are desired and it would be harder to lose the requested features.

Ah, yes, somebody else brought that up before... I also thought that this would be a good idea too...even with the obvious "cons" of this board, if was created, still, I think now it will be useful and helpful...  :thumbup:
Anyways, the Glest Community did not have enough votes on this...last time...re-vote?  ::) Omega?  :|
7. Feature Wanted Board: A separate board to hold features wanted for users who want to request new GAE/MegaGlest features. Downside is that the appropriate boards for that may be a better place, abet, having two locations (wonder if its possible to mirror a topic?).
But usually people opinions won't change much...  ::)

Ask your mod or Omega to create a subforum in GAE. (I've seen more feature requests then actual coding... :bomb: it's good to have ideas, but who's gonna do them?)
