Important Suggestion?

Since we have a huge problem at our hands about glest being compromised, accounts being hacked and then deleted. Maybe we should now include virus scans of our files before uploading them...here is one: http://www.virustotal.com/ you must include a raw link of the virus scan! But maybe admins like titi, omega..etc don't have to...ANYWAYS the bad to that is that, what if the file is too big for the scanner?

You can't upload a file to the board. That has nothing to do with it! Besides, only executables are megaglest, Gae, and military really.... All from trusted sources. They will not affect the board, and I'm sure all of us have virus scanners, not to mention firefox does a bit of a scan when downloading.

but really, it is better not too...using 3rd party uploading sites is OK...

If people are careful enough already, with their protection and etc, then usually they don't need to worry...

As Omaga said, you don't upload stuff to the board. You upload it to FileFront or some other site.

It's easily quite possible to set it so it only allows images under x resolution and x filesize to be uploadable, but if I recall, the glest team turned that off about a year or so ago because it was flooding the server or something. Eitherway, its simple enough to use imageshack or something for an image. I you don't know how to do that, you really need a tutorial on the 'net.

As for normal files, those would be way to large for glest's board, since that would eat up bandwidth like a shark.

Yeah... anyways 3rd party sites aren't too much of a hassle...usually it is OK...the only problem? waiting (some sites) or ADS...
