The day has arrived.

Voting for the best open source game on the web has begun. We've broken the list down into 10 genres. Vote on the art, innovation, storyline, and overall gaming experience to decide what games from the 10 genres will go head to head in the final round.

I'll post some results every day so you can see how your game, and gaming community, stacks up against the rest.

PS - Thanks for being receptive to my original posting. I gave Glest a shot last night and had a great time churning through it. I may've even tossed my vote to you in the survey (shhhh don't tell the others).

Well let's see, assuming that only 3 of us have voted, and maybe squamulus too...that is only 4 people...if at least the other active people voted, then maybe Glest/MG would have a chance...

Fear not! I have delicious information for you.

So, in pouring over the data yesterday, you may say "HEY, GLEST ISN'T ON THERE" and then make rows of sad faces. Many of you did just that.

BUT. Here is what I have to show you.

CA and Warzone 2100 are tied for the Best Game spot, but Glest is only one percentage point away.

I need not tell you how infuriating it is to lose a race in the last 4 feet. So go slap your vote in and push it up. I'll update the blog tomorrow and see if it paid off.

Cool, so as long as other people vote...then it will be fine. Although, the other games are cool too...
Hmm...an extra green? in the poll...
Hmm...Glest is really the best one out there, at least of a RTS...now if the Commercial ones were included, well, they aren't free...

I wonder why Spring 1944 isn't so popular, in my opinion its superior to both Glest(no offense), and total annihilation.

Maybe cause it is only about one thing, while Glest is more...then just Military stuff.

Nah it is just about Military. That's cool, but I like other things better...specially if you were really in that tank...

I'd prefer a hawker typhoon any day

, they have a community that is far more organized in my opinion then glest,I think, second of all it allows stuff such a turrets, morale, limited ammo etc.

Well I think the development of Glest, then megaglest, is better, as only around 7 people worked on Original Glest, and for megaglest, now it is only 2 people...3 maybe.but now 2.
We'll see.

If i was like in a jagdtiger in aberdeen that would also be authentic, but I'm getting OT.
Spring has a more concentrated effort, in Glest few of the teams are permanent and its usually each man for himself, though I have to admit I like it better that way
