I started this topic because for the Glest movie were gonna try to make the battles as realistic, strategy wise, as possible(I hope) and while I have some ideas on tactics, I would like to hear any comments or ideas you may have on what tactics each faction should have, obviously, some such as the romans will be rather easy to figure out because they are historically based, all of the other factions are more fantasy like which leaves their tactics up for dispute. Here are some tactics I figured out for some factions:
Romans:
Tortoise formation
shield wall
box formation
Wedge formation
flanking cavalry charge
bombarding enemy with srtillery before closing with infantry or siege towers(in sieges)
Tech:
paradropping
commando raiding
cavalry charge
tank/walker assault
shield wall
crossbowmen/archers/arbalestier volley fire
rocket strafing
bombing
airship cannon fire
Elves:
ambush
sniping
arrow volleys
cavalry hit and run raids
cavalry charge
griffon bombardment
I have some other ideas but I'll see what everyone else comes up with.
Please post comments/ideas
