mods have a download link that you click to download, once downloaded they either have an installer or you put them in the tech section, heres a basic example I download v-bros pack1 and so i copy it here(I'm going by what my folders are)
C:/program files/megaglest/techs/
if its a specific faction I want to add to the megapack(Elves for example) I'd copy it to this
C:/program files/megaglest/techs/megapack/factions/copy elves here
and I'd add there special resources tree and grace here
C:/program files/megaglest/techs/megapack/resources/copy tree and grace resources here.
I hope this is helpful, if not I'm sorry, if you need something clarified just ask. ;)

Megaglest is its own game with an installer and everything.  I don't have a link for it off-hand, but I'll bet it's in one of the sticky topics on the Megaglest board.

It is a "fork" of glest.

For the future, when providing links to a specific MegaGlest topic show them to the main topic, which has just recently been updated. ;)
https://forum.megaglest.org/index.php?topic=4930.0
It includes links to the FAQ, SourceForge page, and a set of screenshots at Titi's site, it also has past releases and all release history listed. :) Not to mention that it has a link to the latest stable version of MG.

That's true. I'll do that when the latest stable version of MG is actually stable. This time it almost was, but now the fix for it is stable...

No, no, you see cause right now, or softcoder/titi was focusing on the masterserver...and once you have a problem it can be a problem for everyone, also there was rendering issues, but now almost all is OK. Well I'd say 90% or so. Basically MG is just finding Vanilla Glest's bugs...sometimes.  :|
Quote
- Bugfix for disappearing mouse when toggling out of the game
- Increased default HTTP timeout value from 5 to 10 seconds and users may override the HTTP timeout now via a glestuser.ini setting:
Code: [Select]
DEFAULT_HTTP_TIMEOUT=10- Changed data checksum error message to include the offending client playername is the message
- Reverted Game Rendering to 3.3.4 and now we have better performance
- Attempt to fix game crash on game end statistics
Anyways I am OT now.  :|
