I've never heard of any "age of adventurers" either, so I'm stuck on the sidelines (again).

It seems no good. It has ended at the battle of Augsburg in 955. Age of Adventures was from 895-955, so 60 years. The Hungarians had a base territory in the Carpathian basin (today: Transylvania, Slovakia, Vojvodina, and Hungary), and they went everywhere where they were hired. European lords usually hired the Hungarian tribes for war, sometimes they were even fighting against each other. They were "adventuring" in Spain, France, Germany, Italy, and Greece (Byzantine Empire that time). At Augsburg, it was a crucial defeat from the westerners, what made "adventures" to the west impossible (however, it continued to the south).

He wanted to unite the Germanic tribes under his rule, so he needed a reason for it. If it weren't the jews, he would find an another group.

I have several explanations for that one when he was refused into the Vienna academy of arts he thought it was the jews fault because the school was and in reality it was to a limited degree controlled by jews, then as Kukac already pointed out to unite the germans, and a possibility that he himself was part jewish might explain it though not sure how [He wanted to have a common enemy against the Germans - @kukac@]

Maybe a better question would be why does Mel Gibson hate the Jews? ;)

:O :OThats not really a history question and seem kinda OT in this topic though I must admit its funny :O :O I wouldn't know the answer  , so if I win my question will be "what Czech king was assassinated by his brother and his brothers followers at the doors of a church/cathedral".
