schools and genders
« on: 28 July 2010, 17:17:03 »
Studies have discovered that girls learn math and science better when they are separated from boys. And boys learn better with girls.

should they seperate the class boy/girl or still kepp them in the same?

I heard about two weeks ago somewhere the exact opposite of what your saying now, so I find those studies highly unreliable ::)

I think that is BS. I think it doesn't matter whether you are separate or together (But I support together! I wouldn't last a minute in an all boys school, I can tell you that). It's really all about how well the students work. I for one, don't think that having girls in the school affects my marks at all.

Sorry but I can't see that as true. It really depends on who those boys and girls are and how they learn, obviously every child is going to be different in different situations. The best thing is what they have now. have both types of schools in the system and finding out what works best per student.

The whole school system is fucked up, so why are we debating a topic that already works great. :|

That is how I think of it, it depends...

Hmm, is that why you are home schooled? I would say, some are. But there are a lot of good, different, and bad things...about homeschooling(well maybe not for homeschooling...), private schooling, and public school.

For the record, every home schooled kid I've met has been not very good at grammar and absolutely garbage at spelling.

Hmm, well that just depends on how they are home schooled I guess. I know some people or kids that have been home schooled, and they are fine...at least with grammar and spelling. If not better than others...

I also got nothing against home schooling too...

In this country the public schools suck, so from fourth grade I've been homeschooling, I'll be going into normal highschool though, because homeschooling through highschool is hard cuz you don't get labs a lot of the subjects and other stuff, through elementary and middle school though its very useful and I certainly enjoyed it, I took college latin courses ad scored several 99's on CAT testing

I see.

Usually by parents at home, or by private tutors I guess.

why do home schooling?
Well, some schools aren't good at teaching... so sometimes for better results in academics I hear. Supposedly better environment, which is true but not always for all "cases". Or some parents object to what is taught ins public or private schools, I think.  :|

There are some homeschoolers who don't do anything and they give homeschooling a bad name, but usually homeschooling isn't for the worse :|

Why would you do you mean your parents would give you an A+ or that they are good enough teachers that you would be getting A+'s what you said was kinda vague
