Emanations in MG?

can we do this? i would love to have emanations, because it would really help me out.

if the code is already written (GAE), then its just cut&paste, right?

Not sure, hmm...  :|

Well, not really. No...if it was like that, basically all the features of GAE would be in MG too... most of us wish.
Well, some stuff has been added, but one, the pathfinder, caused some trouble. Was not anyone's fault though, just we should double check next time...

GAE emanations depend on a lot of other GAE-specific code, like the entire <effects> tag, and likely some of the changes that were done in the massive object refactoring.  Over time, MG features get incorporated into GAE, but I wouldn't count on many GAE features getting incorporated into MG.

I think it will be 50/50. The GAE pathfinder is going to be incorporated in MG/ it is already, we just have a few problems with it. The "Photo mode" from GAE went to MG too, and the CPU Easy and CPU Mega went to GAE. Probably other things I missed, or I will...

It also depends on the dev's time. "We" only got the pathfinder cause Silnarm had time, and softcoder had time too.
Now Silnarm is busy, so the GAE pathfinder still has problems...

Right.

honestly, i think GAE and MG should combine. now, i know it's easier said than done, but it would benefit us all. give MG GAE's unit tags and awesome interface; and give GAE MG's multiplayer support and particle stuff. this would be the greatest thing ever!

Not gonna happen.  It's been discussed multiple times.  The branches will continue to borrow code from each other, but there is no merger in the foreseeable future.

Hmm...I thought I posted a reply. Oh well.

Well, what John said. Err... especially now. Right now Silnarm is like the only person still working on GAE (I heard we are getting an update soon) and...it is still SC and Titi.

At least, "they" are helping each other out...
