A very serious problem, I need help
« on: 9 April 2005, 19:54:50 »
Ok so I downloaded and installed Glest, and while I can play it, I love it!  Great job!  Problem is that in what seems like a random amount of time into a game my whole computer locks up and responds to nothing.  So I turn it off and turn it on again, but right after I turn it back on, it automatically shuts itself down again.  I then turn it back on, and it says that I need to select processor speed to startup, so I do and then I start up and everything works fine until I run Glest again.  Then, if I start another game of Glest up, it happens again.  I have downloaded the latest drivers for my graphics card and my monitor a few days ago and here are my specs:

Windows XP (with all latest updates)
AMD Athlon XP 2800+
120 GB Hard Drive
512 MB RAM
GeForce FX 5900 w/ 128 MB RAM

Anything else that you need to know?  Thanks a lot!

mabye glest shares a part in the registry with another program. this happened to me once, and both programs malfunctioned. find another program that seems to be screwing up and delete either it or glest (i suggest glest, it takes less effort to re-install) and see if it works.

this is just a suggestion, please do not attack me if it doesnt help. but at the worst, all you are doing is uninstalling glest, so no hamr done by trying.

the chances of all of them screwing up is reallly slim, so check if your computer is good enough. if it is, then i am guessing someone needs to reformat... ::)
