While I don't think the US's actions are anything but good (in most cases), its true that they define "good" with their actions. If they decide something, its right and every one else is wrong. It's really all a matter of perspective. Nobody thinks of themselves as bad, even the terrorists think what they are doing is good. Thus, good and bad is all a matter of perspective.
Also, no country is perfect, and all have their faults. While the US may be basically "good" (from the perspectives of its own citizens), it does have some bad things as well (seen by public opinions of some government choices, such as Obama's "cash-handout" and the war on Iraq).
As for deletion of topics, its best off to lock them, in my opinion, because otherwise links may become broken (such as cross topic quotes) as well, unless it violates the board rules, there's no complusive need for it to be deleted, or even locked. While its definately a biased topic and may be controversal for the many of us who are non-american, it doesn't do any harm and should it get out of hand, can be locked.
