I know I should probably search for it myself, but I want to know the latest best way to capture an animation as a gif. I'd like to show off some of my animations!

im working on that, but the alpha isnt wanting to behave the way i want it to. trust me, i want better pics too (well, actually, i want alot of things....)
It takes a lot of work really. For Military, I used the MG G3D viewer, set the transparent background on, and take the screenshot. Open the screenshot, select the alpha, invert the selection, and crop to selection (Paint.NET did this easily). In the future, it would be pretty cool if we had a program that could do that all. Don't expect to get particles in, as last I saw, the MG viewer didn't handle particles correctly with a transparent background (might be fixed, feel free to correct me). In some cases, I just edited a particle onto the image post-taking, though hardly necessary.

Yep, I do the same exact thing. Just took a transparent screenshot with particles, and it's fine. Or is it specific to some models? Anyways, I think that particle problem was fixed a few months ago...

now, about those....im still trying to get the alpha thing down.....it's harder than it looks.

also, those arent build pics, those are ingame snapshots taken solely for the wiki (so you can get a better look at the units).

hey! we have a pre-beta out! woo! it has lots of cool stuff! but once again, it's not done.

we're still getting some stuff worked out, but just wait a little longer!

in a packing mishap, you'll have to play unpack the zip into your addons folder. we'll fix this in a few days, after a few mod fixes.

What are the fixes? Ill just wait till fixed release.

Fixes: (that i can remember)
new units! The Accuser/Asylum pair and the Herald/Vindicator pair
new models/anims/build pics!
stat and balance fixes!
you can now build the Gateway, but this is temporary. we're waiting for the AI to get the clue that it needs to morph it from the Portal.
and general "newness"
Oh, and the wiki pages have been updated, i'm still in the process of getting everything a wiki page.

Known Bugs:
units that cloak completely disappear! our shaders just vanished one day, so dont lose your cloaked units!
some of our particles/models/texes are wrong. there's so much change that things dont always work well with each other. these are on the top of our list.
everything without a build pic has a ? on it. we're fixing this too.

if you have any comments for balance and stuff, please say so.

Oh, I'm not that impatient... I think. Anyway, I'm holding off download because I'm swamped under assignments and upcoming final exams. Besides, I hear your team will have a "jam weekend" for development... chop chop.  ;)
