Map catorgories.

My Map list has grown pretty big, and it's getting kinda hard to manage. If we could put our maps into categories such as, Big, small, 4 player, default, favorites,  etc. It would be much easier to navigate.
This might also would be good for mod specific maps and maps for scenarios.

Especially maps for scenarios, they should be hidden so that they only work with the scenario (for some odd maps designed for special scenarios, etc.
Best way to do this would be to have subfolders in the maps folder which is automagically sets up categories, there should be a scenario folder for scenario only maps too.

Problem: Maps can belong in multiple categories, as well, we would generally want maps to be as easy to install as possible.

Megaglest has a filter that lets you filter maps by the number of players (so when looking for a 8 player match, you can set the filter to 8 and only maps that support 8 (or hypothetically more) would be shown).

Biggest problem is that (1) things must remain compatable with current folder structure, for both ease of use and so installers, etc work fine, and (2) it would have to bear in mind that many maps would belong to multiple categories... Plus, there's the final flaw that there is so little room on the custom game screen, and map categories would just add another dialogue box... Though for the most part, I do see how categories would be VERY useful, particularily since Military now has water units, but only maps that were specifically made for water units work well with them, and, while all of them also have a scenario that shows the map, its still harder than a category.

@Chupa, place the scenario maps in the scenarios directory. That way it doesn't appear in the map list, and is only playable in the scenarios (new feature to 0.3.1).

Well, actually only about 7 maps come with GAE, yes? So I was thinking they could be the default maps. Then once the user installs more maps they can create there own categories and place them where they want, really the scenarios folder structure already works like this. I think there is plenty of room in the custom game screen, just one more box above the map selection box wouldn't hurt anything.

I've actually come up with a (very simple) meta-data system for maps that is backward compatible, which will make filtering maps nicer, but some sort of system whereby the user can add 'tags' to a map (and then filter by tags) might be nice... will think on it.

Sounds good to me, my list of maps is slowly growing.
