Aren't you from norway? According to this, your highest registered temperature is 38 and you lowest is -50.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geography_of_Norway#Temperature

You relize 40 isn't an average, just a peak, right? Our average winters are maybe -10 - -20...

this year. saudia will suffer from a deadly and serious cold weather. difrent from the past winters. we arabs diden get used to cold weather. thats why we gonna be pretty velunarble.

i think the reason is that in russia when their forests set on fire the death of many trees caused the weather and other conditons of temreture to change and take an another path.

it's already autumn here. but the winterly cold weather has already came with striking winds

am a one of a kind for your information, arabs dont get around playing games like this or coming to these sites. also, they are no fans of history either. not much. but they are not.

this might prove the existance of people from diffrent contries around here! not only americans and canadians. but other people from other parties.

Well, don't forget about the V. Family.   :O (softcoder, Elim, Tiger...etc)

The community is kinda diverse. I know there are a lot of Germans, plus a good number of Australians and Canadians.

Well, using google analytics some time ago for the Glest guide, there was a high concentration of american users, but also plenty from most of europe, lots of asia, even some africa, plenty from south america... Of course, you can't just depend on people to post their country, most players don't even have a glest board account. IP adress tracking can tell you the country (though nothing more), being a more accurate source.

American with Danish, Swiss/German, Irish and English blood. Typical American mixed breed mutt. Both of my grandfathers were born in late 1890, one side were cattle ranchers and the other apple/cherry orchard ranchers. One grandfather told me how the children all slept in one big bed and in the winter the snow would blow in between the wooden slats and they would awaken to snow siting atop their down feather bed coverings. Pretty crazy how hard life was back then when compared to how it is now.

I have my great grandfathers bed and sleep in it every night, its an old rope bed but I added a rail so a modern mattress can be set above the ropes. The bed I have is larger and more ornate than the one shown in the picture below.

Ever wonder where "sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite" originated? The ropes would get loose on these beds and would need to be tightened once in a while.

i hear my dad teling me same stories. they lived in villages across the vvery high mountains it was so crazy cold weather. they were all poor and nobody was rich in al baha. they were mostly farmers and my dad was a sheep herder when he was a kid. along with his brothers. salih, ali, khalid, mohammed, abdulahman, and his sister fatimah
they worked in diffrent manners. my grandfather god bless him was working so hard. he opened a small shop in the thursday market. and the school was very very tough. life was tough. i saw the old ruins they were living at untill modern buildings were out. there was dangerous snakes. and scorpions and wolves my father says. the wolves once killed all the goats in their farm. and guess what? they killed it all. and toke a one. they dident ate the rest. they just killed it. those are hatred wolves.

Wolves, coyote and mountain lion will kill for sport and all will attack humans if the conditions are right. I've shot quite a few coyote, it doesn't make me feel good, its just a necessity when they threaten livestock. I spotted a Mountain Lion one time near my grandpa's apple orchard, it was a female with very small cubs - she was roaring and growling and in a very agitated state.

Here is a photo I took of wild horses not too far from my house.

And these are Pronghorn Antelope

my dad and grandfather and uncles dident had beds at all. very few people had. they slept in hay or sometimes old tattered blankets and pillows weere stuffed with hay o something like it.

my dad says snakes were most fraightening in all al baha. he says once a woodcutter went to the woods for some fire wood to sell or use and he saw a snaked and clashed with it. the woodcutter tells the story he used his hatch to attemp to kill the snake. he says he tried to chop it but the hatch dident seem to pentrate the skin. just pins the snake down. untill lots of gighting with the snake he killed it hardy and very tough and exhausting fight. a woodcutter would be usually strong. how could he not kill it easy? thats a reason to becareful from snakes. but the biggest thing that fraightens was it's poison. there was poor healthcare. only old healing manners. the old healing and medication realy works. but if time was avilable to take the sick to an experienced healers place. there was only 1 hospital in al baha and it was far from their village. you have to cross a rough dirt road through mountains to reach the town wheres the hospital is.

also another true story of a butcher caught a snake in his shop. the butchers was strong and giant and powerfull. even though. he used the knives and blades to attemt to kill the snake. e says it was hard. the knive wont cut the snnake. and the snake was fast and dodgy.it tried to run and menuever but the butcher closed the door so he can kill it. when he was done. he killed it. he hanged it over a rope in the public signspot. trying to clear his point to watch out from these things. the butcher killed the snake by crushing it with his boots. right on its head.
