When someone wants you to download and run an untested and unproven program on your computer without showing the source, skepticism is warranted.  If that person wants to snap back and turn it from a legitimate concern into a personal assault, then the source of negativity is with that individual.  You may see this criticism as negative, but how much worse would it be if we allowed potential malware to go unhindered?

I forgot to mention this before I went off to my bed, anyways when I meant negativicty I meant lack of active memembers, conflicts and glest expansion. Perhaps maybe changing Glest's website to a newer design, just a suggestion because well most gaming websites change their website to get more memebers and that it wouldn't seem old, but my suggestion about new design for Glest.org is totally OT, though the Glest Board changes is great! You might of thought I didn't refer any friends of mines to Glest after reading what I posted, but yes I did. John I get it. Glest Network and my self have to admit he himself did pushed someone into a donation for his project and he apologizes maybe its not enough so it leads to suspicion but I don't see how it could lead to malware. Please an explantion would be great!  :)

Split. No more worries about OT.

There's a good handful of active members... Seeing how many "real" people make accounts on the board, there's quite a lot active.

As for the Glest's website design... What's wrong with it? ;)

And when someone wants to keep criticizing you without showing some self-discipline, then, that's how it starts. Basically, because someone just won't shut up and leave you alone.

It's not criticism.  It's a demand for a gesture of good faith, so we know you're not trying to damage us.  You still have no provided us with a reason to trust you.  I don't allow someone into my house unless I know that they're not there to cause damage.

It was split from the other topic by Omega.  See here:

Yeah it is. And, why don't you supply a good reason why I should trust a person like you?

I won't give you money unless I trust you.

What's up with the "wise" stuff? Is it suppose to help me? because it's not.

You shouldn't trust me and I shouldn't trust you.  Nobody here needs to trust me, because there's not really much I can do to hurt them.  I'm not asking for access to anyone's computer.  By pushing your software, that's exactly what you're doing.  If I become malicious, what's the most I can do?  Not much, right?  What's the most a malicious program can do to someone?  Raise absolute Hell, that's what.

What are you trying to hide anyway?  Your absolute refusal to divulge any of your source to anyone is very suspicious.  Your source code isn't exactly a matter of national security, you know.  You're ostensibly writing a small-time program for the community of a relatively obscure independent non-commercial game, not writing an encryption key for NORAD.  For crying out loud, man.

Yeah, I never even trusted you. Nobody needs to trust me either. I'm not even asking for access to anyone's computer. I hide whatever I want to hide whatever I want to hide. No duh, privacy. And people are releasing mods, same thing. For crying out loud, man, lay off and stop being ignorant and persistent to me. Like, you're really getting on my nerves.

For mods, we get the source lol...We need to trust you, if you give us something to possible harm us. No, your not even asking, but maybe making a program that would work as a key to our computer.

I'm not even asking for access to anyone's computer.
That's exactly what you're doing.  If someone downloads your program, it can do whatever you like to their computer and the information contained on it.

Let me simplify this for you.  Don't post about this supposed "Glest Developer" unless you're posting source.  In other words, put up or shut up.
