[invalid] Shadow mapping effect problems!
« on: 1 November 2010, 01:17:36 »
Today I tested the SVN-1202, found a Bug: I used the Shadow mapping function,When the game was five minutes, the shadow disappeared.
I set my options, choose a shadow mapping effect.

Oh it's just the shadow which disappeared. I am sorry, I misunderstood your description on IRC then.

This is not a bug, it's on purpose. The game will automatically disabled shadows when your RenderFPS decreases below a certain value (I forgot which one exactly, but probably something like 20 or 15). The idea is to keep the game playable for you (and others) in terms of RenderFPS while sacrificing the shadows while RenderFPS remains low (they will return later if your RenderFPS have increased in the meantime).

This is not a bug. If your fps (frames per second) drops below 15, then shadows turn off (to try to help recover some fps so the game doesn't get too laggy. Once your fps climbs up to 25 the shadows will return again. This is because shadows can take a lot of performance away and if your game is starting to grind down then we try to compensate in as many ways as we can.

I think a non-laggy game is better than some shadows....
