[fixed] Tests with svn revision 1203/1204
« on: 2 November 2010, 00:49:37 »
Some issues/wishes for/with latest svn revision:

1. a crash, here is a stacktrace:   http://pastebin.com/UAvTWjC8

2. another crash happened while in custom menu with players connected. Me ( the server ) tried to change his playername  which results in a crash ( no stacktrace sorry ). I vote to completly skip this feature. I vote to not let people enter internet menu without having a playername set! They should just get a message if they didn't choosed a name different from newbie and cannot enter internet menu.

3. we had some more crashes related to pressing the ? key ingame ( no stacktrace sorry )

4. we want real colors in custom menus ( not these light colors )

5.  we all don't like the star at the beginning of the names

6. "tomreynsvn" was a name which was too long so the ":" was skipped at the end of his name, which looked bad :-/

7. In general it was running quite slow today for all players. Its maybe bad luck, but I think something is wrong. One of the new features eats a lot of time.

About the AI :  The CPU is really evil now! we need those multiplieres or anything else to stop it. We were not able to beat normal cpus!
The new way of harvesting is really good for the AI :/ .
Try Megaglest! Improved Engine / New factions / New tilesets / New maps / New scenarios

4. we want real colors in custom menus ( not these light colors )

Just to clarify, this refers to the custom game menu. The server list (for clients looking for a server) is also considered to be too colorful now.

5.  we all don't like the star at the beginning of the names

This refers to the chat where all nicknames start with an asterisk (*).

6. "tomreynsvn" was a name which was too long so the ":" was skipped at the end of his name, which looked bad :-/

The nickname is "tomreyntrunk" (just in case you want to reproduce this). On my screen, there was no overlapping, but I am likely to have a different font and font size.

In the lobby/ingame chat i've noticed that the messages got indented, like pressing the <tab> key before typing the message. This feels kinda ugly to me....

Yeah, titi did this on purpose to make it noticeable now when someone actually says something. I think he's going to cut it down a bit though, too much space...

I didn't know that before. Thx for the information. i agree, cutting the leading space off a bit might be an good idea.
