That's not necessarily cheating, as the foes get the same units you do (as a note, I strongly recommend Notepad++ over ANY other text editor), though I should also mention that if you do those "cheats" you will be unable to play multiplayer. If you really must do said cheats, I recommend copying the magitech folder, renaming that new copy to whatever you wish, and then open it and rename the file "magitech.xml" to the same name as you named the new magitech folder (with the *.xml suffix).

And of course, MG and GAE both have "easy" CPUs.

For "true" cheats, GAE has a built in Lua console. For example, typing "~" to open the console gives you the ability to type a command to create a unit, give resources, etc... For example "createUnit('archer',0,startLocation(0))" would create you an archer (provided you are player 0) at your home base. Please see this page for more explaination on Lua in Glest.

You are a logical guy huh? I like to play both factions equally much, but now i belive the last time i played original magitech is like, ever since i played with Titis son and Archmage, but before that its probably months, i mostly do not play the game, but i mod it and see how the AI reacts to what i do. For me the fun is in the simulation I should probably play more magitech though, to learn more tactics until some multiplayer sessions become big and stuff. Yeah, by the way warlord, you should check in with some multiplayer sessions for MegaGlest, it really just is glest with more factions (Egypt, Indians, Norsemen (vikings ) + magitech.

i think i'll change it soon though. it getting old. am gonna change it for a funny avatar. but im confused.... theres a funny avatar and an epic war avatar. i dont know which one i choose.... i'll be done with it soon.
