build diffrent bases across and menouvere, high ground is usefull, use the AI's dumb building systems to harass from diffrent location advantages, use horsemen and archers and swordsmen and battling machines to over beat ad magic army, use archmages and drake bandits and mages and dragons and summoners to outmatch the bravery and strength of the tech's national army.

catapults is something i am not experienced with, my knowledge has reached that they got destroyed very quickly in a light raid, i have not used them in a siege,

use blitzkreig, it brings your army to an amazing effectivness

garrison ranged units inside buildings to gain very effective defensive bonuses

use flights as a first wave of attack to cause confusion,

hit the enemy's economy, they will suffer badly from a loss in industry and productions and building...

build outposts outside enemy bases to launch a long siege, the enemy supply will suffer, but both sides will be suffering from attriton damage so watch out!

outrace the enemy's industry gives a huge advantage to you

cheers!!! :)

I'm not sure what game Warlord has been playing, but I don't think it's Glest. :|

No currently released factions offer garrisoning inside of buildings, and I'm almost certain that higher ground affords no bonus whatsoever.

why you think its a joke?

why high ground is'nt advantegous? this is a bad con in this game to know about,

grrison troops inside buildings gives them an ultimate defense bonus against anything, except for splash attacks i think, search for places inside buildings to garrison soldiers and guard the area.

once again, only in GAE can you garrison troops into buildings, and there isnt even an official mod that does that yet!

dude, does'nt require mods to actually put someone or something inside a building, seriously, point the pointer to point in inside the building and click-in towards inside the building if it has some space inside the walls like a walkway or a room or small space inside, soldiers will march and garrison, the defense bonuse is for ranged soldiers because they are able to shoot out while they remain unharmed by attacks and melee units will just be safe and protected inside while bieng unable to fight back except by leaving te defenses to fight off enemies :swordman:

cheers! :)

dude, nothing against you personally, but im close to calling the moderators on you for trolling. the game you are describing is obviously not Glest.

please, just talk about GLEST! that's the reason we are here, not for this game that you have been talking about! now, if you are trying to talk about Glest, ACTUALLY PLAY THE GAME! if you really played it, you would know that most of the stuff that you talked about isnt in it!

cheers!

I think he just means he walks his unit inside the building. That's not garrisoning, the units aren't protected.

stupid..... when a unit is inside it wont be attacked because it has some shit around it to be safe. the AI is'nt smart enough to realize it and start going inside the building because it amasses its forces instead of orgnized attack

trolled I HAVE NOT >:(

No you didn`t troll, but normally in the RTS gaming genre, garrisoning is when you command a unit to go into a building. Like you give it a new status, let me make an example:

Normal garrisoning:

Status unit: open

Command: go into building

Status unit: garrisoned

Glest "garrisoning":

Status unit: open

Command: walk there

Status unit: open

hope i could make it some clear, but it is hard to describe, what i mean is that there has been a misunderstanding so please dont rage ;)

well, the tactic described does not work, your guys get no more of a defensive bonus (i know because my dudes are still attacked even when placed "inside" a building)

by splash i mentioned

my guys have been attacked by archers (who have no splash) when they were inside a barracks.

Glest does not do official garrisoning, just accept that.
