Hi Conzar, in order to get real progress on your patches (All of them) please email me the actual source code files that have changes, i'd prefer a nice graphical diff view (since there are so many changes) where i can see the changes in context of all of the code. Once you send me thoise files I'll diff them and merge changes and commit to trunk the changes that we accept.

Thanks

Conzar

Released new patch.  This enables multi-select for units (meaning that an arbitrary number of units can be selected with the addition of tabs similar to how SC2 handles multi-select units).  Please see first post for more details and a YouTube clip for it in action.  Unfortunately, multi-select depends on the HUD code so its an all-in-1 patch.

The release is done now and its time to face those things ....
Please try to come to chat so we can discuss.

One first thing: How is the hud overlay done? I see you have "holes" for the unit icons and so on. I think this is a bad idea (if its still like this)!
better first render the hud and on top of it render the icons/labels and so on . Much more simple to do ( the graphics ).

Another thing I would love to see is a tech specific HUD that can be set. Same for your other features.

Try Megaglest! Improved Engine / New factions / New tilesets / New maps / New scenarios

I'm out of town right now so I'll be sparsely checking in ... so most likely won't be in chat until next week.  The HUD overlay is a TGA image with transparency.  Its rendered before other HUD components so the holes aren't necessary ... they are just for looks.  Also, I am not very good at drawing graphics so the HUD is just a placeholder for a more experienced artist to produce a nice hud.

Also, what do you mean by a tech specific HUD?

not faction specific, but tech specific.

And I think it would be more easy to first render the hud and then the things on top of it. So you don't have place transparent parts on the right place.
Try Megaglest! Improved Engine / New factions / New tilesets / New maps / New scenarios
