opening: a jihad faction

hiya guys. am starting to attempt a rough start of making a mod. this is sure gonna be ultra-hard to me. meybe end up making boxed up models? lol. am gonna read some tips and study sme words and pictures to get a clue where and how and what and when to do anything. am gonna begin it i need advices.

units list:

{1} an imam. a unit that has a melee attack and when placed near other units they'll be more dangerous to the
enemy historiclly. they were joining since the very begin as followers in battle, later theier duties were in mosques
{2} tribe warrior. a unit with medium attack and light armor has a ranged and melee attack with short range. armed with a skirmishing bow and a small shield and a short 1 edged sword or a stick. easy to muster... these soldiers will be the backbone of your army. historically those tribal warriors were joining after the battle of badr. a decisive muslim victory.
{3} meccan belivers. those are elite warriors i think i'm gonna makea speciel barracks and upgrades for them. light armor. armed with an arab sword or a stick and a medium shield. historically. these warrior joined in the start of the muslim revulioution and nearly the whole army that fought in badr were meccan warrior. even in te nextwars
{4} bedouin beliver. a unit riding a horse or a camel. armed with a palmtree spear or a sword. fast and good for taking out enemy's skirmishers. light armor. historically. those bedouins were rescued by a jihad force from a union bandit raiding force. and they joined.
{5} madinah belivers. elite warriors from madinah that have followed muhammed(PBUH)and joned him after he travelled to them through the desert. they require research. and from a speciel barracks.
{6} jihads. very elite warrior that are very easy to achive. though the cost is not high and they dont rquire a particular research or barracks. you get jihads by clicking the "call to the jihad" button and little money will be consumed to arm them. the jihads will spawn near every building though their armor is light but their hitpoints are high and their damge is high too. this is based on "power of the will" and the faith in them. there are 5 types of jihads: jihad warrior. jihad archer. jihad rider. jihad skirmisher. jihad guards. historically jihads earnt very decisive victories such as badr. once you click the declare jihad button. you will be supplied with average number of jihads periodacally.

got ideas or something like that? this is gonna be HARD

What will be the worker unit?
Is it going to be historically accurate, aka no air uniuts?
I dont know, but i think it is written "Jihadists"
Also i suggest that you remove belivers from the names and replace it with something like "rogue/soldier/archer/cavalry" etc. Then you could have Archers from mecca, Beduin cavalry Medinah soldiers and Rogue Jihadists Then you pretty much have the basic units covered.

This mod seems to me grotesque and liable to offend.

Yeah I'd be wary of building on that theme it is a pretty emotive topic and likely to offend religious nutcases and moderates on both "sides".

if this gonna end up with a fight and some1 banned. i've warned you. and beliver has nothing in relegon in it so i would warn the admins to not endup blaming me overehere

wtf passanger plane? also this only 1 side of the muslims. am still figuring out the union and quriash sides.

workers will be. uhmm..... you give the idea.

this is history... mediaval stuff. how could you fly?

rogue? no thats bad. a rogue is a theif or assasin. which is something hated in islam. its jihad or jihadist. both the same.

yes but this faction is both. there will be arab tribes and jihads.

history has'nt spoken much of arabs and their history except in their medicine and their science and scholarship. knowldge.

there are very few recordings and knowledgee of prehistoic arabs. theres few recordings and information about ancient arabs. the most information is about mediaval arabs. so there cant be arab faction without muslim. prehistoric and ancient nor mediaval. they all these eras had muslims and prophets. and i dont know or realize how those arabs lived. nearly none of them record their history or lives. but muslims did. especielly the later ones in the mediaval era.

if i would call it arabic then i would have to change the era from mediaval to 1917 era. WW1 in saudi arabia not a muslim war.

Recommended: Do not even bother taking the re-textured route. Skip that completely and take the time to learn Blender. You will get far far better results that way, and people will actually download the mod. Retextured mods, I tend to completely skip over and erase from my memory.

Quick question: What time span are we talking about here?

Sweet!I salute you finally made decision to make your own faction! :D

I think jihad faction is fine,it's nice indeed.so does it includes major islamic factions that unite to fight against crusaders?like serjuk turks,mameluks,al-Fātimiyyūn,Abbasids,and of course Ayyubids?It would be a huge units roster.If you find difficulty about making medieval units,I wish to help you(I'm very interested in medieval men-at-arms.I don't know so much about them though).

no not crusaders. its the opening and start of the isamic revolioution which is i think around 1000 AD

men at arms they're in arms. they are heavily armed and armored used by mostly eastern and southern european duchies and kingdoms and empires. mostly as regulars guarding forts and in invasion armies

iam talking about quriash and unions VS the muslim revolt not crusaders and ottomans. ottomans are much later.

if i might make a suggestion, i think that you should handle the "religiousness" the way that AoE3 did. The Ottoman faction had a mosque (as opposed to a church, like the other factions), and they had an imam instead of a cleric. even though they were different from the rest, they still did the same things that their Christian counterparts did (only differences were in name, appearance, and picture). now, i have no problem with making them different from another form of holy man, it's just that there is a line there.

sorry if im not making much sense, but im trying to prevent any anti-muslim remarks because of this mod. it's a touchy subject here in America

I mean Seljuq turks,not ottomans - seljuqs also a much later from your story though. -
then this mod will contain very beginning battles of Muḥammad and umma against Makkah?
Will it also contain muslim conquests in The Righteous Caliphs age?
anyway,I know almost nothing about this age of islam history,but I'm looking forward on this mod.good luck :thumbup:

I think you mean about 700.  By that time, a large amount of the world had been conquered by muslims from the arabian peninsula.  So, this would not necessarily be contemporary with crusaders, just regional non-muslims and the byzantines.
