[invalid] Glest map editor 1.5.0 problem with the pink X

Sorry guys i dont know where to post it (and dont know if the title says something or it's not understandable) but i post it here, in case move it and sorry in advice. Today for the first time ;D (even if i play mg by months) i opened the glest map editor and after few minutes i created a map (was a test but i like it). Now there is a problem: when i open the editor i see a a pink X stuck in the map:

Should be the player 8 but when i put the X of the player 8 ,that X which is stuck changes colour and doesnt move:

I tried to move the x but nothing, is it a bug?? Does anyone know how to remove that X from there?? thanks!

I'm unable to reproduce that. Player 8, our friend in pink, moves fine when I tell him to.

Well for me it's easy to reproduce that, i dont have anything to do! I open the editor and there is that X stuck. It's a little annoying because it limits me to put where i want the players in the map  :|
I translated Megaglest in italian and i keep the translation updated.

Try redownloading MG, perhaps yours is broken? I'm using the exact same version without any trouble, and have tried both the menu bar option and the image toolbar option and both worked flawlessly. I also tried GAE's editor (which can do every thing MG can do better, in my opinion, and defaults to 4 players but supports 8 ), also version 1.5.0, and it too had no problems, so try that if the MG editor doesn't work...

How did you try to move the pink X ? You cannot drag and drop things with the mouse in the editor!
Did you use the green icon with the yellow "P" to place it?

Yes i tried with the mouse but when i saw that it wasn't working i used the P. I dont do anything i open the editor and get that X and if (using the P) put the Player 8 in another place the X remain there and change colour (so from player 8 becomes another player). About redownloading it im doing it now i will tell you when i did it.

*update*: i redownloaded megaglest (i also deleted the megaglest folder after unistalling it) and i still have this problem. Seems an important thing if you make maps but i dont, and seems im the only one this this problem so for me it's not very important ^^, but i wanted to report it.

lol yes thats the next player, you have to set them all !
By default they are all in upper left corner. and one above the other. Set player1-8 to other places then you will see.

As a closing, I would think the map editor needs a full, proper documentation. I can write an HTML file if you want to implement it (really, just a "help" button on the toolbar that simply opens a the HTML file, which should open in their default browser).

How to open a default browser from c++ in a cross platform compatible way? We wanted this in many places, but I don't know how to do!

That wouldn't work. Then there'd have to be a way for the editor to read an HTML file, and using an integrated one is too large and/or too horrid to think of. Using the default browser would be far more effective.

I found a lot of ways to open URL's, but no cross platform way, so it seems to me you'd have to check for the platform, such as with conditional compiling as that thread above mentions. Messy, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work.
