Expansion

Im a devout glest player, but i have a few questions about the expansion, is there any indication how long before it is released, (dying for new units) and i believe that to improev this game, you guys, whom i worship, should create more structures for both sides, and a defensive magic structure. thnx :D

I think that this date is rather optimistic, since we still need to rewrite the particle XMLs and balance and test the new units.

New units will be shipped with Glest 1.3 as the agenda states, and we have not released 1.1 yet.

thnx for da response, what kind of features does this golem have and, i've seen some of the pics for the expansion and extra units and what is the tower of death or something (sry 4get what it was called) that the magic has?

sry, its me again, but just a q, does anyone have any maps to share cuz, i have trouble making them, if not, could some one show me how to properly make maps, thnx again

hey and, try to advertise more, if u can, i just showed my friends and they absolutely got it, compared graphics to warcraft.

@ martino and glest team

Mean this, that the expansion will come later or the new units come later?
What is with campaigns? If we could change the buildings the players starts to play we could make a campaign? Did you ever think about heros for glest ( the five devolopers could be heros, or ; )? You have model and textured it already, so wouldn't be so difficult, or ?

LOL. Heroes: good idea. This is an RPG/fantasy based strategy, heroes is a good idea. IF you make them characteristic and kewl. I believe you will :)

But the netcode should be the most important thing to do after the expansion in my opinion. For such game multiplayer equals boost in playablility.

mmm... I was very optimistic with my estimation, it will take sometime yet. Version 1.1 should be ready soon, but I don´t know exactly when.

Got the game working today. CONGRATULATIONS!
I didnt knew there was a Linux port, but simply the fact that this was a free -as in free speech- game made me download it; so I got the win32 running 100% okay with wine hehe... but now i'm using linux version 1.0.10. The only difference is: Running with wine under KDE makes the sound shitty, while in the Linux version everything workes fine, even with some system load. *INFO* The xerces-c dll provided with the win32 version is not properly handled by wine. Had to find it on the net. Nevermind that, because the linux version is just fine! *EXCEPT* by the fact that i had to change the glest script: the glxinfo command was not a standard in my distribution, so I changed the conditional. If someone is having problems, just do it and all will work fine. I'm going to post this on the proper forum.

I'm really anxious about the 'expansion' too, but there is one priority that is being forgotten all this time, and its not multiplayer. It's hotkeys. Yup. B-build, A-Attackmove, M-move, etc. This is very important. I can't think of a real multiplayer RTS match without hotkeys. (not the kind of stuff thats too difficult to make with sdl_input)
