Upgrade Animation
« on: 17 February 2011, 09:37:34 »
In my mod, my werewolves have a standard walking animation, when they get upgraded they can become very fast, the animation speeds up to adapt to the movement speed boost but it would be better if a different animation could be used depending on what upgrades a unit has.
My werewolves walk around normally but I have a nice animation where they leap along the ground, some of my werewolves already use this but with no upgrades it looks a bit odd having them leap around the floor at a slow pace.
I know multiple animations have been requested so maybe this could be added to that request, so multiple animations per skill per upgrade.

It would be very cool, yes. At the mean time, what you can do, is to use morph commands. Morph the unit into a separate unit of the same name with an underscore at the end (it won't appear in game) so they appear to be the same unit, but because they are actually a different unit, you can give them different models and animations. For example, you could morph a unit into one with a different weapon, or pull a transformers move and turn a car into a giant robot. Abet, what they lack is the ability to make *all* units like that, as an upgrade would, so yeah, having different animations with upgrades would be pretty cool.
