Custom game selection control (human player)
« on: 19 April 2011, 07:56:37 »
When you choose control "human" (for example Player 3) the choice of other control doesn't work.

I have always found it super-annoying that you can't cycle round in the choices, and that as soon as you assign a slot to be a human player (because you are trying to find the slot type that you do want) it moves you there.  Dropdowns for player types would be massively more usable.

JohnP4, I mean a choice only for one player. When I choose "human" (for example Player 3) the choice of other control doesn't work. I think must be сyclic сhoice.

This is somewhat inconvenient and non-ideal, but I would not call it a bug. The current UI options MG has do not offer drop down menus. And the way it does it now does enforce that you always have exactly one human player, which is important. You can move the human player to another slot, by setting the other slot to 'Human'. Once this is done, you can then modify the old slot to be something else.

I would call it a bug - a usability bug.

Priority is another thing, but it ought not be dismissed and forgotten.

This will hopefully be fixed in the planned (although somewhat belated?) merge project for Glest 4 since GAE is already using drop downs, and yes they are nicer to use  :)
