[invalid] 3.50 beta 2; Units compress each other
« on: 19 April 2011, 15:52:29 »
v3.50 beta 2. Windows7 64 bit SP1. Videocard: GF GTX470
***
If one unit to another bar the way among the rocks, trees, etc., then they will stand together in the same position. I'll have to push apart by hand. Wasting time in vain.

I assume you are referring to issues with harvesting resources, and that the issue is that some workers block each other when there are a lot of workers trying to harvest at the same location. This can happen if you directed several workers to harvest in the same location because they will continue to attempt to harvest exactly there and not in neighbouring fields where the same resource is available. If this is the issue you are running into, this is not a bug, since this is a logical behaviour. You can, however, work around this by not making all your workers harvest at the very same location. Simply assign different harvesting locations to them.

Not exactly
(click to show/hide)
In the screenshot you can see how 4 people stuck and can not get out. It would be better if the units can automatically give way.

I see how this makes a good feature request.

Odd, I've never seen this one before. Usually you can just spam click outside, and provided that the units can manually get out, they'll usually eventually get out (with the exception of some map "traps" which do not apply to the image above).

The AI has logic to move out of the way when its units are blocked, we assumed humans could handle it :)
