Glest Recipes

Hello, Glest community!

Seeing as we have a rather diverse community here, i figured that there may be some interesting recipes that may need to be tried. This is the point of this thread, i want to hear your most interesting (and edible) cuisines.
But here's the thing, to make things even more interesting, i would like all recipes to be somehow Glest-related. whether you give some backstory describing how your recipe was enjoyed by the forces of the Woodsmen or even if you give us pics of cookies resembling Battlemages, your treat must be somehow connected to the Glest community (let's have fun with this, k?)

If the Martians landed in Tennessee, this is what would make them so fat their mech tripods would collapse under the burden

10 mins chicken cheatin' satay (US trailer park / Malaysian classic)

8-12 chicken drum sticks with skin on
1/2 x jar peanut butter (without jelly!!!!!)
5 oz of full cream
handful raisins
salt
pepper
all spice
juice of 1 lemon

squeeze the lemon so that all the juice comes out - put juice into pan or wok. Add some oil and the raisins. Turn on the heat full until raisins start sizzling. Whilst you wait slice the rest of the lemon and add that in. add the drumsticks and turn the heat down. Fry until really browned (must be cooked!!!). Add the cream and then the peanut butter. Fry until peanut oil begins to separate. Add salt, pepper and all-spice to season and turn oil red.

The Guards Food

Ingredients

  •     10 pounds potatoes, peeled
  •     1/2 cup butter
  •    1/3 cup heavy cream
  •     1 tablespoon salt
  •     1 tablespoon white sugar
  •     2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Directions

1.     Cover potatoes with water and cook until tender. Run hot potatoes through a potato ricer. Place into a large bowl. Beat butter, cream, salt, and sugar into the hot riced potatoes. Let cool to room temperature.

2.     Stir flour into the potato mixture. Pull off pieces of the dough and form into walnut size balls. Lightly flour a pastry cloth and roll out lefse balls to 1/8 inch thickness.

3.     Cook on a hot (400 degree F/200 C) griddle until bubbles form and each side has browned. Place on a damp towel to cool slightly and then cover with damp towel until ready to serve.

The daily food for the guard, as long as techmen can remember

May be served with sugar, blueberry or raspberry jam, Enjoy!

Workers Candy
Ingredients

  • 1 bowl of Milk
  • 1 lump of Blueberry

Directions

1. Either cook the milk and make it hot, or pass this step
2. Either mix the blueberry or skip this step
3. Put the blueberry, mixed or not into the hot or cold milk and enjoy

Personally i prefer cold milk and frozen blueberry straight from the forest, but hey, thats just me.

As far as workers of the high-tech can remember, they have been eating this every saturday after the young have collected blueberry from the wilderness and the women have collected milk from the cows. The men return from the forest with wood and they burn it in their ovens, they cannot wait for the evening to taste this great soup.

Elixir of Energy

Ever wonder what the liquid was inside the Magic's Energy Sources? I've discovered it! And, i have the recipe to make it!

you will need:
1 cup of Sugar
1 cup of Lemon Juice
6 1/2 cups of Water
and food dye (for teamcolor, of course ;))

combine this all into one pitcher, stir, chill, and enjoy.

the end result should look something like this:

as you can see, i decided to go with yellow.

for some interesting variations, you can use Grenadine instead of food dye (to make it red/pink and give it a mellower taste) or you can use Lime juice instead of Lemon Juice (or use both!)

EDIT: this pitcher is full with a double amount of Elixir, so, there's 2 cups of Sugar, Lemon Juice, etc.

Artificial food dye is awful stuff, how about we interchange that with natural food coloring and have our initiates last to become archmages.

All mass produced made-in-america-and-massed-in-china products are full of poop, literally, rat food. I made my own hamburger from a deer i shot once, rawr better than that mcdonald shit. Of colurse with self grown, natural tomatoes for ketchup and goat-milk-made cheeze. Beat it.

I really like spicy food  :P

Here is my own chili recipe:

ULTIMATE CHILLI

INGREDIENTS:
400g Mince or cubed beef
3-4 rashers chopped bacon
1 medium onion
2-4 chopped birds eye chillis (more chillis = more heat)
3 tablespoons mild paprika
3 teaspoons of salt
2 cloves garlic chopped
500g Passata
4 tablespoons dry beef gravy mix
2 tins kidney beans in liquor
1 chopped and deseeded red pepper
2 table spoons of english or dijon mustard (english for a strong clear taste, dijon for a fuller taste)
2-4 tablespoons of honey (more honey for a sweeter chilli)
2 teaspoons of oregano
2 teaspoons of basil

RECIPE:
1. Put oil into pan. Add beef, bacon, onion, chillis, paprika and salt. Fry until all meat is browned.

2. Add garlic and fry for a further 1 minute.

3. Add the passata followed by all other ingredients and stir well.

4. Simmer on a medium heat for 1 hour, or until the chilli has reduced to a thick consistency.

p.s, finished my last batch two days ago. Will upload a picture when I make some more.
